We stayed here during the Jane Austen Festival, which meant the prices were incredibly high β around Β£300 per night for two people. For that cost, we expected something a bit more special, but the room we were given was very small and lacked comfort. Traffic noise was noticeable throughout the night, and parking was both first come, first served and an expensive extra. Breakfast was included, and to be fair, it was reasonably nice. We also appreciated being able to use the communal fridge for complimentary bottled water and milk. However, staff made no mention of our special occasion at check-in, which was disappointing. Overall, given the high price, limited facilities, and rather average service, I wouldnβt recommend this hotel.

We booked a room for two but were given the dinky double which we later found out was a room for one person. It was tiny and claustrophobic. We had to leave our luggage in the car because it wouldnβt fit in the room and every night we went to our car and grabbed our clothes for the next day. This was a chore and made our stay so disappointing as we were very much looking forward to staying here. We stayed for three nights and had to pay a hefty fee for on-site parking. The staff however were all lovely and the breakfast was amazing. Sadly we wonβt be returning here or recommending this hotel.

Friendly welcoming staff. Unusual and interesting decor and lights. Excellent food in the "Plate" restaurant. This is our second visit and unlikely to be our last. The city centre is about a 10minute stroll away, less if you're a fast walker. Comfy bed and clean bathroom, what more do you need for a city break.

Couldnβt say more about our stay. Warmly greeted by cheerful and helpful staff. Primary contact at front desk (reception area pictured) during our stay was Charlie - informative and positive. We stayed in Rm 28 which looked over Bathβs recreation field (bowling lawn and croquet field) with Abbey in the distance. Only downside was lack of storage - challenge for us as we had a 5 night stay (seems most folks have shorter stays). The Plate has a good breakfast and dinners were varied and good (had our first Sunday roast beef dinner and it was memorable). Location provides 10-15 minute walkable access to a number of activities (rowing on the Avon, viewed our first cricket match, the Holbourne Museum, and all that Bath proper has to offer). I asked a former co-worker (Brit ex-pat) best place for holiday in Britain and he replied quickly, Bath. The Bird Bath made it that much better. Highly recommend.

From booking to leaving the experience was outstanding. The staff are all super welcoming, professional and friendly. We stayed in the Abbey King and we did not want to leave, greeted by a handwritten card from the team for that added personal touch! The bed was really comfy, definitely slept like a baby. Cleanliness top notch and the views from the room were beautiful. Breakfast there was a nice variety to choose from and it tasted delicious, the huge cafeteria of coffee was extremely welcomed to get us started for our fun packed day ahead. Location, no more than a 10 minute walk to a variety of restaurants, shops and more. The atmosphere was chilled and happy. 100% will be returning in the future. Fantastic stay, gutted it was for one night! K Tychyna

What a fantastic quirky Hotel with the most friendly and helpful staff, particularly Victoria on reception! It is just a 10 minute pretty walk into the city centre, the breakfast was delicious and the free sweets ladder and fresh jug of milk was a lovely unexpected bonus. I would highly recommend this Hotel and the staff are an absolute credit to the proprietors

So close, but it's a miss. I'd give it 3.5 stars of I could. Stylish, contemporary hotel. A good location, 10 minutes walk from city centre. Good shower. Tasty breakfast. Parking on site, which is a gift in Bath. Great views. So what was wrong? The room was noisy. A persistent thudding right through the night (sounded like the an extractor fan). We asked to move room but there were no alternatives. The hotel waived the parking fees. The rest was all about details. The room was a bit tired and very small. The heater wasn't on when we arrived, so the room was cold. The shower plug was blocked, so the tray flooded. Public areas small and uninviting. At breakfast, decaff tea had normal tea bags. Butter was so hard it wouldn't spread (on the toast they forgot to bring). None of these things are deal breakers, but for top dollar you want the details to be right. I want someone to care that I had a great time. For Β£300/night it was very disappointing.

Loved our stay here at The Bird! The location is super close to the centre of town, the room was gorgeous with a beautiful view of the hills and town, and the breakfast...well... it was mouthwateringly delicious and such a great way to start the day. There was a great full English vegan breakfast option with mushrooms cooked to perfection! Loved the pottery used to serve up the food, and all the decor touches around the hotel make this place a unique, cozy, and arty feeling place to stay. Thanks team Bird!

We have spent a lovely weekend in The Bird hotel with our Pomeranian Coco. Excellent service and food. Next time we are going to update the room for a bigger one. It was our first little break for this year due to massive demand in our business!!! So nice just to chill out and relax in lovely places in my favourite British city.
