Fab stay - rooms beautifully decorated and clean. Locations right in the middle of town and easy to find. Staff were very friendly and helpful too. Breakfast was great value and loved the little details like the pillow spray in the room. Would definitely stay again.

The location of Broad Street Townhouse is very central, which is great. However, there are double yellow lines right in front of the hotel, so you can’t stop there. We used the Podium car park instead, which is very big and luckily very close to the property. Our room was on the third floor and there is no lift. At first the room looked nice, but there were a few things that were not pleasant. The TV didn’t work. I phoned reception to let them know, and they told me someone would come the next morning to check it, but unfortunately we were leaving in the morning so it was too late for us. In the bathroom there are still two separate taps, one for hot water and one for cold water, which feels very old-fashioned. The shower also looks old, and it was very hard to adjust the temperature because the handle is very stiff. My husband managed to change it, but by that time I had already taken a very hot shower. Another important thing I didn’t like was the breakfast experience. The girl who served us on the morning of 9 December 2025, I’m sorry to say, is not very good at working with the public. Also, the breakfast was not hot: my food was only warm, and the spinach and my husband’s ham were cold. I often read responses from the hotel saying that negative comments help them improve, but in my opinion there has not been a lot of improvement, because I saw many reviews mentioning the same issues. If the staff at Broad Street Townhouse are happy with this level of service, then I’m happy for them. I also learned from other comments that visiting in the summer can be like having a sauna, just a much more expensive one!

Overall the experience was excellent. The room was beautiful and warm, (we were in a superior). The en suite was lovely and the shower was brilliant. Breakfast was very nice indeed - I’ve never seen egg yolks so yellow (they were orange!) and the tomatoes were the sweetest I’ve ever tasted. Only slight (very slight!) down points were the sister pub was cold (ok, it was a winters night but the pub was crying out for a bit of warmth); the other funny(ish!) one was the pub sign hanging virtually outside our room continually swung in the wind - what a noise it made - desperately needed some wd40 or, better still, clamping down. It kept me awake for hours but I am a light sleeper. All in all, a great place to stay with all the shops and restaurants on your doorstep. Staff were excellent too. We’ll be back.

The room was beautiful and the staff even left a birthday surprise for my partner which was very sweet! The breakfast included was delicious and the location meant all amenities were in easy reach, including the lovely pub next door. The only complaint I have was the noise at night due to the takeaway on the same street, so I would definitely suggest ear plugs or perhaps some double glazing for the windows is needed. Overall, it was a wonderful stay.

Do not go to the Broad St Town House cafe for lunch. Our experience today was awful - my ‘flatbread with squash, chorizo and hummus’ was no more than a child-size pizza base smeared with a thin layer of a sauce which may have contained chorizo. If it did, it was blended to nothing. There were 12 1cm cubes of squash and four small dollops of a kind of hummus. The top had jarred vinegar-soaked chillis (nothing special) and a sprinkle of wilted cress. £13.50. My wife had tomato soup and a ciabatta which looked like any Aldi ciabatta. The soup was tasteless. The serving person could not have been less interested or engaged, and missed the fries we also ordered. When this was pointed out they could not have cared less. It was a bit strange that as we ate, one of the other staff brought their lunch in, sat down and started to eat. I don’t mind sharing space but I’ve not seen a cafe-staff canteen before. Butcombe Brewery should stick to making beer (which is good) because they clearly can’t run a cafe.

Was sceptical booking this as normally stay in big chain hotels but didn't disappoint at all. The staff were excellent and felt like they couldn't do enough for you which is what is sometimes missing at large hotels. The rooms were very clean and we loved the quality of the minibar and toiletries in the room. The breakfast was first class, very good ingredients and a good selection. The location of the hotel is very close to the centre and has good choice of restaurants and shops within walking distance. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to book our next night away here.

This is an ideally situated hotel in the centre of Bath, it's location is excellent. The decor of the room was done to a great standard. So why 3*? We stayed in room 8, up many flights of stairs and the room was quite small and had a misleading title. the bedroom was very small and. The bathroom being larger than normal and tastefully decorated. The "Superior king room" you would expect to have a king size bed, be a little larger too, but in the small print it's a double bed. Is that my fault for not reading the small print? Possibly but the hotel could also correct it's title too, to avoid confusion for others. It's like advertising an estate car and getting a compact! I struggle with the comment from many that breakfast was superb, it wasn't great on the Monday we stayed and I passed off the breakfast on Tuesday due to the experience. The poached egg was more akin to a hard boiled egg, the bacon I could tap on the plate it was so hard, the sausage was not good quality, it was pretty poor. The scrambled eggs were significantly over seasoned with salt that my wife left too. The coffee was good however I appreciate they are busy, but after a 45 minute wait for the breakfast, and many other couples experiencing it too , everyone looked just as fed up. It wasn't even good and they mixed up orders on 3 tables that we witnessed, one being vegetarian and provided a meaty breakfast. During the wait you get 1 coffee and not offered anything continental or top ups or orange juice etc. I wouldn't stay again, the flights of stairs are steep, the room small, and the lack of good service , albeit the staff pleasant when engaged, this is enough for us to try somewhere different. Which is a shame because we really wanted to enjoy this experience and support smaller hotel chains.

Lovely hotel in a fantastic location in the centre of Bath. Really warm and welcoming staff, excellent breakfasts, comfy stylish and spacious room. Only minor comments were that the room could do with a bit of a paint refresh in places and bathroom blind was broken, but we didn't need it anyway. We were staying in a street facing room and it did also get a bit noisy outside at night but a small sacrifice for staying in such a great spot, it didn't bother me. We had a great time, thank you.

The room (4) was fantastic. Portable air on and a fan were available and both kept the room cool (approx 28 degrees). Attention to decor was fantastic, unique touches everywhere. Bedding was great, bed was great. Housekeeping was very conscientious. Breakfast was very delicious and a variety of options for diets. Location was very central, first glance I wasn’t sure what to expect but it made up for it with comfort and attention to detail. Great staff as well. Fantastic toiletries too. Highly remind and would definitely book again

My partner and I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Broad Street Townhouse! The staff were all super friendly and charming, willing to help with whatever we needed. The rooms and washrooms are spacious and beautifully decorated, complete with complimentary Prosecco, beer, waters and pillow spray-such a nice touch. We loved how they had the radio playing music as we entered our room. Breakfast was included with the stay, which was delicious and you could tell they used quality ingredients. They’ve definitely thought of everything, we will definitely be back! Can’t recommend this place more. Thank you to management and the staff for giving us such an amazing experience.
