We stayed overnight for the New Years Eve party and have nothing but praise for the whole event. From start to finish everything was well catered for and all the staff lovely, friendly and helpful. We will return. One glitch for me personally was that i like a swim - and children were in the 'lane swim' portion of the pool.

Stayed for one night, booked online via booking.com to pay on arrival. Booked online for £90 to inc breakfast, to then check in and be told breakfast “wouldn’t have been included” and price was increased by £30, even though i had made the booking already - i just wanted to pay on the day. Then to add breakfast on to our booking, it would be an extra £30. So ended up paying more than what we had booked the room for, and yet were without breakfast?? When I questioned this at the desk, was met with an attitude and was simply told I “was wrong”, it “wouldn’t have been that price” and “breakfast wouldn’t have been included.” Very poor attitude to be met with considering we had been there all of five minutes and this is the first experience we get. Premier Inn would have been cheaper, but the reason we booked here was it was £5 more for the 4* which we were looking forward to. Should have just booked the Premier Inn! Bathroom was not clean, had hair on floor, in sink and in bath tub. Shower did not have hot water, was luke warm at best! others in our party in different rooms had same experience with bathroom cleanliness and shower temperature. Also, stains on bed spread and pillows were poor. We also noticed an extremely potent smell of cannabis on multiple occasions on our way to and from our room - not what you expect in 4*. All in all, not what we were expecting at all and very disappointed.

Used to love this hotel, been coming for 17 years or so. But it’s not the same. The last couple of years we stayed, the room hadn’t been made up even though we arrived much later than check in time, so we had to wait an hour to go to our room, and on the latest occasion the lights in the room didn’t work properly and the light in the bathroom was dripping water so we had to be moved to another room. It’s not just these things. It’s little things as well. Choice and quality of food at breakfast is gradually getting worse-the apple juice used to be really pure and rich in colour but now looks and tastes like it’s been watered down. The eggs are tough as nails and the grated cheese had mould growing in it- a customer found it and the restaurant staff had to replace. It makes you wonder what else isn’t being checked. The furnishings look tattered, there’s a bit of mould in the bathroom, the carpet in the room hasn’t been properly cleaned so you step on the last persons crumbs. The staff appear disinterested and don’t apologise for us having to change rooms because of a dripping light. The reason I mind is because it’s expensive to stay here and I expect good standards. Next time we stay in Bristol we will be looking elsewhere.

I recently stayed at the DoubleTree Bristol North and was thoroughly impressed. The rooms were absolutely immaculate – spotless, comfortable, and beautifully presented. The health club is a real highlight, offering excellent facilities that cater to both relaxation and fitness needs. The bar area was warm and inviting, and the staff made the experience even better. Everyone was welcoming and friendly, creating a great atmosphere. A special mention goes to Joe, whose exceptional service and personable approach truly stood out. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a top-quality stay with outstanding amenities and customer service.

Good mid range hotel. Comfortable and quiet. Dinner menu a bit uninspired but well cooked. Breakfast buffet good and varied. Room clean with all the basics. Staff excellent.

Really unimpressed considering this is meant to be a Hilton and is priced as such. Rooms are really tired and dirty from years of use. Not a housekeeping issue as the room was well presented with regards to bedding, tea and cup set up etc, more a general upkeep and maintenance issue. The bath was ingrained with years of dirt from people's feet, the shower head barely stayed upright as the little rubber gasket holding it up was worn out, and towels smelt like old chip fat? Only one robe provided which was thrown at the back of a cupboard, so didn't use and no slippers. The pool was nice and warm however slightly rude and impatient service at the fitness club reception. Had no information on arrival when /where breakfast would be, where the health club was etc. Given a keycard, didn't even tell us which way to head to the room, really poor customer service. Rooms have absolutely no sound proofing at all and you can easily hear conversations next door/in the corridor, and showers/toilets from neighbouring rooms. The breakfast was nicely cooked however and a good selection on offer. Overall wouldn't recommend this hotel for an overnight stay let alone more than one night!

Great location. Superb staff with a truly guest centric focus. Gym and pool are a bonus. Sadly whilst comfortable to stay for a few nights it is definitely in need of updating of bedroom decor and bathroom layout.

The room is very out dated and the bed is so uncomfortable, every time you move in the bed it would creek, the mattress is very very hard. Room was not cleaned at all for the 4 days I was there and complained to the receptionist and still nothing was done. Everyday I had to go to reception to get coffee, tea bags and clean towels even thou I followed there instructions to leave towels on bathroom floor if I wanted clean ones but again they were still there when I came back 10 hours later. Bar and food prices are astronomical and the food was not very good at all, cold chips each time. Complimentary shower gel and shampoo had to collect 3 times from reception because they could not be bothered to replace the empty ones. Avoid this hotel at all cost.
