Posting this a little late. It's a nice cosy location to stay in, chose the location en route to another city. The rooms were neat and clean, had all the basic facility and the staff were friendly. The breakfast deal was good value for money and was very nice.

The service was nice, but one server did spill some sauce which splashed all across us and our table as soon as we sat down. The food is definitely better than it used to be, but still isnβt the best. As nice as the food looks, the pies are overcooked and dry, and the gravey had no flavour and was practically just water. The only thing that was fully enjoyed was the fish and chips. Fine, but wouldnβt recommend or go back.

Stayed here 1-2nd November. First impressions were great, staff extremely friendly behind the bar and at reception. Went to our room which was through like a courtyard thing into a newly done stable or something. You could smell drainage which wasnβt too pleasant but you couldnβt smell it in your room thankfully. Was wowed by the room, great size, perfect for 2 adults and 1 child. The bathroom was a wet room, it was fine, we were grateful that we got our own en-suite as a lot of places donβt always offer that. The beds were comfy and spacious. Breakfast was brilliant, a cooked breakfast which you order then a small continental table with cereals, jams, yogurt, fruit, drinks, pastries etc, well worth it to be honest, again staff were very friendly, even the chef, honestly couldnβt fault the staff at all. I think the only thing Iβd say is you can hear absolutely everything through the walls. We would definitely stop again. A short drive into Bath too which was lovely. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

My friend and I stayed her with our dogs during our girly break and we couldnt have found a more perfect place to stay if we tried! The staff were so friendly and welcoming as soon as we arrived. The rooms were set apart from the public in their own secure courtyard and were so welcoming and comfortable. We went across for dinner at the pub where they found us a corner table in the bar so the dogs could tuck away without being disturbed by other diners. The food was spot on, great portion sizes, reasonable prices and so delicious! In the morning we had breakfast included with our room with great variety to chose from and it was absolutely delicious and really set us up well for a day of walking. At checkout we were asked what our plans were for the day and wished an enjoyable day and safe journeys home. I would absolutely recommend The Charlecombe Inn and would definitely stay there again.

Last minute lunch with friend and 2 dogs. Previously walked dogs at racecourse and had a drink but never eaten. Today decided to have lunch. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her sandwich and cheesy chips. I on the other hand did not enjoy my Fish Finger Sandwich. I did not expect it to be battered. The bread was not very nice either. The chunky chips were nicely cooked. If you are wanting a traditional fish Finger Sandwich, give this a miss! Service was prompt and friendly. The menu is not the traditional pub lunch I expected. Lovely setting with large garden so will return for a drink but not too eat.

We dined early so our timing was not the best for atmosphere but gradually others arrived and we had a good celebratory dinner for our grandson's seventh birthday. We have made several previous visits and can confirm that standards remain high. Thanks.

Recently refurbished to a very high standard we stayed in a lovely room set in a pretty courtyard. Itβs near the road but it was so quiet in the room you didnβt hear a thing. The bed was super comfy, the room spacious, well equipped and well thought out, everything we needed really. The staff were lovely and welcoming and so helpful, telling us the best way to see Bath. The Inn is just outside the town, but there is a park and ride 5 minutes walk away with buses every 10 minutes so we didnβt have to worry about parking. We had a nice dinner in the restaurant which is busy with locals and the breakfast was just lovely. Could not fault the Charlecombe in any way and would highly recommend to others.

Nice, tidy and cosy room, huge disabled bathroom, I didn't need nor want. A door in the wall between my room and the other people's room made me feel unsafe. More than this i could hear everything they were doing. Their talk, their steps in the room, their dog asking out.... not great sleep

Amazing find. We stayed in the annex at the back of the pub. Super cute (and secured) courtyard leads directly to the cottage style rooms. Great size, with all you could need. Super clean. Thanking our lucky stars for the rotary fan in there too, as we visited on the hottest weekend known to man! Breakfast was amazing, and slightly more eclectic than the standard full English. And proper coffee! The beer garden looks right over Bath Racecourse. Which is stunning and I'm sure amazing on race days. There's a park and ride a 5 min walk up the main road which will get you a return to Bath for less than Β£4! But failing to get the last bus, it's less than Β£15 back in a taxi. Would definitely use again if in the area. All members of staff were insanely friendly and welcoming. We felt right at home!
