For the most part, the room was in disrepair. The handle to the shower fell off immediately. The cold water sink faucet wiggled and splashed water all over. The door to the room has no handle and so you have to slam it shut, probably disturbing all the other guests. The front yard had no garden, just weeds and crumbly concrete and trash. But, the bed was comfy but lacked a top sheet. The room served it's purpose but I won't return.

This has got to be one of the worse hotels that I’ve ever stayed in! My sister & I booked a twin room and we were placed at the top of the hotel with no fire escape if God forbid, a fire had started! The room wasn’t fit for purpose..2 cheap wooden beds - that were probably bunk beds, back in the day. Mattress was cheap & uncomfortable with white paint smeared on the bed frames…the decorator (that’s a laugh) hasn’t bothered to clean off. The lighting was very poor and en-suite was filthy with dirty tiles, sink & extractor fan. I paid a lot for the nights & I won’t get bother telling you about the “Continental breakfast” - just don’t put yourself through it! No 9 was my bedroom…so be warned. I’ve complained but they won’t accept my feedback or give me a refund!

Still waiting for refund 6 months later - Oyo absolute nightmare to deal with; seriously DON’T STAY HERE! MOULDY! DON’T stay here. Black mould, brown mould, other “?things”stuck to the wall, stained bedding, thick dust everywhere, peeling paint, cobwebs, dim lighting… A basic room would have been fine, but this was unhygienic. Booked 3 nights, had to leave after one because of conditions, couldn’t contact owner to discuss. Now refusing refund for two nights. My friend also stayed at the same time - booked and paid for two rooms and was only given one; skylight leaked. Also couldn’t get in touch with owner and can’t get refund. One star so I could review. Not worth staying here when there are plenty of other clean and more pleasant places to stay, like Travelodge down by the canal - basic yet clean, more spacious and lovely staff. Reply to Oyo: I’ve been reaching out to you since 28th Dec and getting nothing but generic “cut and paste” responses and the refund was denied by the “property” with no explanation given

Maybe they could make less effort, but I don’t know how. There’s no staff. Breakfast was half a loaf of mouldy bread or long-life croissants. Their office and kitchen full of junk. Rude and confrontational on the phone.

Good location as it’s close to town, and a good price if you don’t mind somewhere with basic amenities. The biggest issue is that there is no staff at the property, and check-in was a nightmare as nobody answered the number provided - I had to call several different ones until finally getting through after waiting around for 45 minutes. Then getting back into the property is a pain, you are given a code but no instructions on how to use the lock so I had to call again to ask how to get in at 2am in the pouring rain. Check-out consisted of leaving the key in the door, so I took photos to ensure there were no issues later on. It’s a great price for Bath, but the rooms are small and basic, and the remote aspect makes things difficult.

Just had a lovely weekend away, and stay at the Lamp Post Villa. The room was modern with an ensuite shower, and very comfortable beds. The continental breakfast was included in the price: juice, lovely filter coffee, tea, toast, preserves, croissants, cereals, yoghurt and fresh fruit and set you up for a good start to the day. The location was great, only a 10 minute, pleasant walk to the centre. The b&b offers great value, and the host Carmine was very helpful and friendly. Would highly recommend.

A greatest. Helpful with must see places to visit. Perfect location only 5 min walk into centre of Bath. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Great location guest house! The rooms had everything we needed and the breakfast was perfect for our needs. The host was really helpful, offering help with bags and giving us some recommendations for the local area. Compared to other guest houses on the same road, this was extremely good value for money and in a really good location to access the Royal crescent, shops and restaurants on foot.

  3. Alison Lambert ★★★★★

Fantastic host, excellent location and value for money. The large twin room was very comfortable and clean with everything we needed. There was a continental breakfast with a good range of items. The host, Carmine is upgrading the b&b and is making an excellent job of it. An 8 minute walk from the city centre and close to the Royal Crescent. A lovely stay.
