Room was good. No fridge and so no milk. Black coffee from good Vertio Nespresso machine. Checkout was fine. Check in not so good as manager absent and staff behind bar busy (until one was kind enough to go find him). So a wait for 15 minutes. As an aside, though it was busy and loud in the bar the soundproofing was good enough that I slept no problem.

Honestly one of the most beautiful, quirky, welcoming hotels I've stayed in in a long time, the bedroom we had was the loft and it was stunning! A really nice atmosphere throughout the night at the bar, lots of pubs ,clubs and entertainment in close proximity, but still perfectly tucked away that you don't hear any of the busy nightlife, we were very happy with our stay and will definitely make a trip back in the future.

My new favourite place to stay! Arriving at 10pm and eager to sleep. I was greeted by such a friendly face of Jack which I didn’t expect. Super friendly, funny, diligent and helpful. Check-in was a breeze. The room was really lovely, great showers, nice lighting and he was right, the beds were super comfy. My stay was short but perfect. Rising early and checking out, I was greeted by Claire. Much to my surprise she was again friendly and bubbly for such an early hour and like Jack genuinely seemed to care about my stay. It’s not often you feel a nights stay is worth the money but I did. The hotel was wonderful but the staff were the highlight. Excellent hospitality and care that I haven’t seen for sometime. Both people would make for excellent hoteliers.

Very friendly and warm welcome from Francis, the manager, who also accommodated on letting us check in a little earlier. We had breakfast on two mornings with a choice of cereals, fruit, pasties, juices, yoghurt, toast and a menu of cooked breakfasts. We opted for the full English, cooked how we asked, and hot fresh coffee with seconds if needed. Clare, deputy manager, was helpful on lots of levels, as was Francis and Ed, who helped us with the TV, which was easy - I didn’t aim the remote in the right direction! The decor of the pub and the rooms is exquisite - Art Deco, which I adore. The hotel location has easy access to the Horsefair, Cabot Circus, and much more.Highly recommend this hotel. Wonderful!

Very nice hotel room. We had a twin which was on the second (top) floor. We hadn’t realised it was part of / above a pub. Our stay was midweek so it was quiet, it may not be at the weekends as we were above the street and entrance. Excellent service, nice room with little welcome gift. Nice and central for a visit to Bristol.
