Stayed here a few times for work and can recommend. Reception are always super helpful and the staff in the dining room in the morning always friendly and give great service vibe. The breakfast is great, I've had both cooked and continental and both hit the mark. The rooms are clean and well looked after. Absolutely not a complaint but if you get the rooms on the top floor make sure you're ready for a few stairs. Parking is limited but I've never had an issue on arrival and location wise the local area is pleasant for a walk. Would recommend.

We stayed overnight at the characterful Rodney Hotel this weekend, as part of a birthday present for my husband, and it was a real treat to stay at this lovely hotel in the beautiful Clifton Village. Even before we arrived, I received a courtesy call from one of the reception staff to discuss any further requirements we may need before our stay, which both surprised and impressed me. All of the staff that we met were so friendly and welcoming, and nothing ever felt like it was too much trouble. Our room was a very pleasant, comfortable, and spacious double on the ground floor with a lovely view of the gardens and, even though it was right next door to the kitchen and obviously quite busy sound-wise, this didn't have a detrimental effect at all on our stay as it was completely quiet by the time we went to bed. The full english breakfast was really good with some local produce which was delicious and much appreciated, and the other breakfast options available, we felt, were of a good variety, easy to access, and the dining room itself is a really lovely space. Not being regular hotel users, this really was a rare treat, but both of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this lovely hotel, both to other Bristolians like ourselves, as well as to visitors to our beautiful city, as this really is a little gem of a place to stay! Many many thanks again to all of the staff who made our stay so comfortable and welcoming:-)

The reception staff were very friendly, especially Juan who went out of his way to help me out with a problem I had. The room was slightly on the small side but very clean and comfortable. Good bed and very good shower. The location is stunning with a regular bus that stops right outside the door foe a short ride to Bristol City centre.

Had a really lovely stay at the Rodney Hotel. Great room with very comfortable bed and an immaculate bathroom and good shower. Staff were all very accommodating and friendly (Katie, Juan and Suki). And the food was outstanding (we had the afternoon tea which was fantastic, and a really nice breakfast). Would highly recommend.

Wonderful stay. Many thanks Katie, Juan, and Suki for making our stay a perfect weekend! The hotel is delightful with comfortable beds and pillows and a lovely powerful shower. Afternoon tea in the bar yesterday was lovely and Bethan and Zenna were so attentive. Thanks for a truly great stay!

A nice restaurant with nice food and a good selection of items on the menu, not outstanding though. The dining room is nice and quiet but does feel unusual. Great staff and deals.

Booked a room for a friend from New Zealand visiting us here. Our shower and hot water system went down. So booked her here. Wonderful location and a cosy place with many shops and restaurants next door. She was very happy with the stay. Annabel on reception was helpful and charming. Keep up the good work.

Small room, dust everywhere, didn't look clean, carpet was threadbare. Breakfast was not included for price of stay. Asked for the room to be cleaned on the second day and it wasn't. Checked out a day before was meant too and was told I would get refunded £99 but was only refunded £50. Wouldn't stay here again.

Lovely hotel in Clifton, close to shops and cafes and the bus stop is outside. Very helpful and friendly staff. We stayed in comfortable single rooms, small, but they had everything you need for one person. Would definitely revisit with my partner.

Positives: All staff I encountered were welcoming and superficially polite. Breakfast good Concerns: The build is tired and shabby (not in a chic away) The room wasn't very clean; dusty, dirty, and didn't smell great, although the window was open. The chair was filthy and strained. (I have photos) The shower was faulty; politely reported. It needed a straightforward repair (I could have done it myself with some simple tools), but it was not resolved during my 3-night stay, nor was I provided an update as to why or offered an alternative room. I discovered dirt under the bed (because it slid around easy). I don't believe the room was vacuumed during my stay because this was not cleaned up, although I left the bed in its moved position so it could be easily seen, nor emptied the bins. Curtains didn't cover the window?! Which affected my sleep ability and woke me up way too early. Ground coffee in the room was stale; it was grey! While I appreciate that hoteliers have had a particularly challenging time over the last two years, this does not explain or excuse the lack of basic service. Here's the rub I did the British thing and said everything was 'fine' at checkout when asked how my stay was; I was in a hurry and wanted to avoid conflict; moreover, I'd already paid! It was a poor experience, and I won't be booking again. By the way, I was checking out accommodation for long-term booking of groups of 10-12 people meeting 2-4 nights monthly over the next 12-15 months.
