Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was warm and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent cooked whilst you wait do fresh and hot. I would definitely stay again.
Decent size room with large comfy bed and nice shower room. The kettle was missing and couldn't find the tv remote. The door to the shower room needs a dam good clean, some sort of stcky residue on it. Attention to detail lacking. Ideally situated for Beacon Bristol and the Hippodrome but as its down a dark alley it was a bit scary at night if on your own. Could do with more lighting, I bet its lovely in the summer as it has a pretty little courtyard for sitting out in.
We went for our mini honeymoon as we've stayed here twice before. The staff, food and service are all excellent but the hotel is showing it's age. I was really disappointed with our room as it was tiny and not as clean as expected for the cost of our stay. Firstly the the door going into the room was grubby and the handle was loose so that put me off a bit. The bathroom was very small and I couldn't sit on the toilet properly as the radiator was in the way. I'm quite a skinny person so I think a larger person would really struggle in there. The shower cubicle wasn't that clean, neither was the rest of the bathroom and room, what there was of it. Once we put our suitcases in, there was very little room to move around and we kept banging ourselves on the bed just walking around it. There was no wardrobe just hooks on the walls for clothes and some of those were broken or missing. Furniture was scruffy and poor quality with water damage to the bathroom cabinet and paint peeling off the bed. We asked for a honeymoon package and got a bottle of prosecco, a small box of chocolates and for £30 I felt a bit ripped off. The courtyard although private with tables and chairs was not very tidy and run down. It could do with a jet wash and good tidy. I could go on! In summary then, friendly staff, good food, service and location. Small grubby room, hotel in general a bit grubby. Very disappointed and will be staying elsewhere in future as our room was not value for money especially considering the cost of other hotels in the area.
Only lost one star because we unfortunately chose the smallest caravan and although shower great, tinsy sink and tiny space to squeeze past to get to toilet! Otherwise caravan perfect for our needs. Staff nothing too much trouble and guest house itself and food excellent . We'd definitely come to stay again. Perfect position for exploring on foot. Thank you!
Overall it's a great place and slightly quirky (it's Bristol!). The location is great but you have to be careful about noise. I asked for a quiet room but was given 17 which is directly over a pub terrace which stays busy until 2 am. Not so much of a problem in winter if you keep the windows closed, but if you need them open in summer, it's very noisy, also again at about 5:30 when deliveries etc start up
Stayed for one night in a rooftop rocket. All staff very friendly. Breakfast was incredible and the accommodation spot on. Reading the reviews on the noise when sleeping in a rocket from nearby nightclub we both bought headphones for some relaxation sounds. Bliss. Not for everyone I know but an amazing experience that I'd recommend to those that want a different accommodation experience in the centre of Bristol.
Really good staff, very welcoming, the room was beautiful, very nice embossed wallpaper. All the trimmings needed for a good night's sleep including a selection of different pillows, which was great as I am particular about the right pillow when nodding off. They even left several sachets of galaxy hot chocolate which is unusual in many hotels. They have a lift to get luggage upstairs and we're keen to help with the four steps on arrival and departure. Very clean and staff very helpful. Location was perfect for the old town and central to everywhere. Particularly liked the velvet embossed wallpaper with dogs on in the toilets near reception. Lots of thoughtful touches all round the hotel. Very pleasant.
I loved this hotel! It was very cozy! And the breakfast was really good, I stayed with my partner after a gig and we needed up staying more nights than planned! I like that after dark it shuts its gates which makes it feel more secure! Lovely little garden area! I think next time I will try out one of the camper vans that are on their roof!
Lovely little guest house in a great central location right next to St Nicholas Markets. The rooms were clean and spacious and for being in such a central location it was really quiet. Breakfast was included within our booking and it was delish, all hot items were made fresh. I really recommend Brooks Guest house for either a business or pleasure visit.
Lovely place,set in the heart of the city in an old part of the city,great staff and lovely secluded courtyard just off St Nicholas Market. Will definitely return when visiting our son at uni. No more than 10/15 minute walk to most things. Only slight minus point that bedroom windows had air vent that you couldn't close and there was some late noise from the neighbouring bars,but still 5 stars from me.
