What really made the experience special, though, was the host, Larry. He went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. His friendly and laid-back vibe instantly made us feel at home. Whether it was offering great local recommendations, helping us settle in, or just having a friendly chat, Larry was always there to ensure our stay was nothing short of fantastic. The dog-friendly atmosphere is also something to note — it was clear that the barn truly caters to pets and their owners. There’s plenty of room for dogs to roam, and the surroundings are perfect for walks or just enjoying the natural beauty of the area. All in all, Mystique Barn offers a unique and warm experience that’s hard to find elsewhere. If you’re in Bristol and need a place that’s as welcoming to your dog as it is to you, don’t hesitate to book a stay here. Larry’s hospitality alone is worth the visit!
Stayed prior to a flight from Bristol airport. The barn is a 10 minute drive away. It was extremely clean and very comfortable and had been excellently converted Very warm with underfloor heating and spacious bathroom. Communication with owners was excellent and much appreciated in an ideal location.
Absolutely fabulous setup and you couldn't wish for better hosts! The location is great as you have the best of both worlds with Chew Magna and Dundry a couple miles away in either direction if you love village life and you are only 5 miles away from Bristol City Centre. Top quality pristine accommodation. We booked both bungalows, which had fabulous large walk-in wet rooms. Our dogs had the time of their lives playing around in the large secure paddock. Ample parking and really secure, all set within electric gates. Highly recommend

Absolutely amazing, such a beautiful place! I could not recommend enough, great facilities, super clean and the bathroom is fantastic! Larry has been absolutely brilliant, so welcoming and accomodating!
I honestly can't express what wonderful people the hosts are. We were meant to stay at Mystique Barn this Saturday whilst visiting Bristol, but a family emergency meant we had to cancel with less than 24-hours notice. After notifying Larry what had happened, he fully refunded us (which he had zero obligation to do!) he rang me to check we were all ok and sent his best wishes to our family. There are amazing places to stay all over world, but I think you'd struggle to find one that has kinder people. That act of kindness meant so much to us and we will 100% be staying here at the next opportunity we get. Kind people are still out there! Thank you Larry and Karen.
This place is just amazing. Tucked away in the countryside it is perfect for a getaway and the best base you could have for exploring the surrounding area. It is incredibly clean and decked out to a very high standard and Larry is a wonderful host. If you need information on where to go, where to eat or what to do then he is your man. It is also very, very dog friendly with a large enclosed paddock for your dog to run free and safe in. You must check it out if you are down this way. We will definitely be returning.
