Disappointed with a recent visit. My partner was sick after eating prawn and crab linguine all you could taste was garlic. We should have complained during our meal but had to leave before our desserts. I contacted the management team afterwards but have not received a response. I thought the food was expensive for what was produced. The place itself is a nice cozy pub, would not return for food.

We popped into this pub and were initially quite impressed. It’s a charming spot with a lovely garden, and the inside has a really authentic feel. The staff were friendly – even the manager came over at the start and made us feel welcome. We ordered the salt and pepper squid, which was absolutely spot on – really tasty. Unfortunately, the Sunday roast let the whole experience down. The Yorkshire pudding and veg were burnt(See the picture), the beef was completely bland, and the gravy was watery with an odd smell. We left most of it untouched and asked for the bill. The waitress didn’t ask if something was wrong until we mentioned it, and even then, she just said she’d tell the kitchen. I don't think she did! No offer to make it up to us – not even a word from the manager. Shame really, because the place has great potential. Thanks anyway!

Amazing little place, this was our first time, staff were lovely and friendly. We had the chilli beef for starters which I forgot to take a picture of and was absolutely amazing. For mains I had the cottage pie which was outstanding. Drinks were reasonable priced. Would definately recommend for a nice late afternoon, evening meal. 10 out of 10

What a gem of a pub / restaurant, the staff are so friendly, the restaurant area is beautiful with a great atmosphere and the food is delicious. We were here for a lovely three course Christmas dinner just a few days before Christmas and it was definitely the best pub Xmas dinner we have had this year. Thank you.

Really good cosy and friendly atmosphere in the restaurant or public bar, which is situated on the left as you enter. I highly recommend their Sunday roast options, including the 3 meat offering. Overall, a little gem of a place just opposite Shenfield High School.

Nice ambience, drink prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly and polite. They weren’t showing the England vs USA World Cup match thankfully which made it so much better and I’m a football fan. Recommended.

Went on Easter Sunday, called in advance, 2 children, 2 adults & a baby, was put in the marquee, which has Own sections, lovely and quiet.. Food was amazing as ever,

Very nice, cosy and surprisingly sheltered and warm even on a very windy evening. I absolutely love the setout, very Covid Safe. Food options are good too and the drinks don't let you down either. Altogether a very nice experience and I will definitely book to go back. Had to pay a small deposit to hold the table for us, and I guess that gets taken away if you don't show up or cancel your booking. Food was very delicious. Very happy!
