Extremely disappointing experience. We waited a long time for service and struggled to get any staff attention. One of the dishes (pork neck) was genuinely inedible, and we raised this immediately. Unfortunately, even after asking to speak to the manager, no one took responsibility or attempted to resolve the issue. Very poor service and attitude overall.

Rodina was the perfect choice for our recent celebration, and I cannot recommend it enough. We visited as a party of four to celebrate two birthdays, and from the moment we arrived the team went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and looked after. Their hospitality was warm, genuine, and attentive without ever feeling intrusive – exactly the kind of service that makes an occasion special. The highlight of the evening was, without a doubt, the incredible food. We had what must be one of the largest meat platters I have ever seen, beautifully presented and even better to taste. Every piece was cooked to perfection – juicy, flavourful, and impossible to resist. Alongside the meats came a fresh and vibrant salad and their outstanding mozzarella bread, which was simply addictive. Despite our best efforts, there was far too much to finish, which says everything about the portion size and generous value - at Β£69 for the feast we enjoyed, it felt like an unbelievable price for both the quality and the quantity. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, and the effort made for our birthdays was noticed and appreciated. Thank you to the entire Rodina team!

Traditional Bulgarian restaurant loved not only by Bulgarian people. I went with my Bulgarian friend and I genuinely enjoyed every single dish we tried. The portions are huge and it’s really good value for money. It is very busy at both lunch and dinner everyday though, so booking in advance is necessary.

The food here is really delicious, especially the grilled beef tongue. However, it’s best to avoid coming during busy hours, otherwise you might encounter what can only be described as a disastrous level of abstract service. On Christmas Day last year, when nearly every restaurant in London was closed, my friends and I stumbled upon this place and saw it was open. We ordered a few plates of grilled meat and drinks and it turned out to be amazing. So today, passing by the area, I brought some friends along to revisit it. Unfortunately, this time we had a very different experience. One of the main dishes we ordered was clearly incorrect: the menu photo showed grilled lamb with fried rice, but we were served a plate of something like yoghurt sauce with fried rice instead. When we politely pointed this out to a waitress, she looked visibly annoyed and said, β€œListen, we’re very busy right now. Just tell me if you still want this dish or not.” My friend and I felt that if we said no, she would just take the dish away with the same impatience, leaving us sitting there with just a starter. So we told her to leave the dish and then approached another waitress. This second staff member quickly realised the mistake, took the dish away, and we then waited another 40 minutes before the correct main dish finally arrived. Meanwhile, halfway through eating our main course, the staff realised she had forgotten to serve the beer we ordered. Then only after I reminded she realized the salad we ordered one hour ago hadn’t arrived either. And by the time we finally got the bill, the salad still hadn’t been served. It was only at this point that the first waitress finally said β€œsorry.” To be fair, the food today was still quite tasty, but we were honestly left speechless by the service.

My Bulgarian friend takes us here - super authentic, good portion and fairly priced. There are dishes that I never tried before on the menu, hard to find elsewhere otherwise. Taste was good - my favourite is beef tongue.

Overall good experience. The food was very decent. You have to try the grilled meatball and pork neck steak(traditional Bulgarian taste). The wine selection could be a little better( like rose wine Starosel, or something in the neighborhood) but overall good, you should try the red wine - Mavrud. The waitress was not in the mood (therefore the 4star review) but the food was very delicious!

Amazing atmosphere, superb service, even better food. We had the mixed grill for 2, and it could have easily fed a family of 4. Will be back many times. As a Romanian, this place really felt like home although it is Bulgarian. This place always seems full and now I know why.
