Really nice spot with very good scenic view with very reasonable cost. The caves were really good - a bit narrow and hard to pass people coming the opposite way, and I and my daughter hit our head couple of times God thanks we have safety helmet. Some parts have uneven surfaces, but it's understandable as it's literally a cave.

Really really nice spot. Great views from the top of the bridge and surrounding Bristol. The cave was very fun too. Very good for the price (Β£3 each).

I am a wedding celebrant and I have now conducted two weddings at Clifton Observatory. My goodness, what a lovely place to get married! I have done one ceremony inside and one on the roof, and both provided a lovely and intimate setting for a wonderful cerebration. The staff here are friendly and helpful and I would recommend this venue to anyone wanting a true Bristol wedding.

Nice little attraction next to the Clifton Suspension Bridge. The area in front of the observatory is probably the best for views of the bridge, particularly from the hill itself. There's a statue of Wallace from Wallace and Gromit just outside that bears a resemblance to Brunel which is cool, as a part of a trail on at the moment. The observatory tower was a little bit disappointing as it isn't open air - there are windows, a few of which open although I'm not sure if they're supposed to, with a cool but incredibly warm camera obscura at the top. Not the best views of the bridge to be honest, I preferred from underneath the observatory, in the caves. The caves were really good - a bit narrow and hard to pass people coming the opposite way, and I did hit my head a couple of times which was a pain. Some parts have uneven surfaces, but it's understandable as it's literally a cave. The views are great, with netting and a fence blocking them a bit but big enough to fit a camera through. The viewing area has a metal but see-through floor which I can understand a lot of people not liking very much, although there's plenty of hard floor behind it if you don't. Overall, good but not the best. It's only a fiver though for both areas so pretty worth it for the price. There's also a restaurant with open air views but I don't venture up there.

Definitely worth it for the beautiful view but beware if you are tall or have mobility issues - the ceiling in the cave to the viewing platform is quite low and jagged and the steps are very steep. Take your time! The upstairs is a museum and there is a camera projection of the surroundings at the top that is projected onto an indented table. Best viewed in absolute darkness! Around the observatory is a nice park and it’s close to some good pubs and shops.

Wow we've had trips to Bristol many times but found the Clifton Observatory on this visit. Easy parking on a public road with a short walk to the top. Stunning views of the suspension bridge and the surrounding area. We were a little disappointed by the cafe /bar in the observatory as hot drinks were served in disposable cups and cold drinks from cans or bottles. Would have been nice to grab a beer on tap or a coke with ice and in a proper glass. But that's just my personal gripe because the position and surroundings were so perfect .

This is most definitely worth the small hike up the hill as the view is absolutely stunning! We had a beautiful day which made for amazing photos. The observatory was closed when we arrived but we still had a lovely time walking around and enjoying the views.

It is so worth the visit. The ground surrounding the Clifton Observatory is extremely pretty with some stunning views. I would highly recommend visiting the observatory itself. It is a small price to pay for what you get to see. The panoramic real time camera is a work of science and is an amazing experience. The views of the Clifton Suspension Bridge and River Avon from the top of the observatory are stunning as well. Make sure you walk through the Giants cave if you are able. The cave is a little narrow again amazing views when you reach the other end of it. Luckily we visited on a sunny day.
