Staying here was a last minute decision whilst on a business trip and I'm so glad I did. Staff are so friendly and helpful (big shout out to Harriet!). My room was really well presented, even with Classic FM playing on the radio as I walked in and cosy lighting well positioned. Everything here was pristine. Food and drinks service down in the bar was excellent also. If I had one constructive criticism it would be to please make breakfast available earlier than 8am (maybe from 7?) to accommodate those that need to be up and out fairly handy. In summary, a lovely experience and I would definitely recommend staying here. Keep up the good work Team Rising Sun!

Stayed here on way to a recent trip to Bath. Flight ended up several hours late meaning I didnt get there till the early hours. Had contacted the hotel before hand and kept them updated, who had sent me very a clear late check in process which was reassuring as travel as a solo female. Room lovely and clean and felt very welcoming and breakfast next morning delicious. Staff all friendly and chatty and so helpful. Would definately return.

It was a surprise and pleasure to enter tbe pub which was bright and welcoming. All the staff were cheerful and helpful. This was in contrast to a previous visit, some time ago, which was a dreary experience. The food was ok and served with a smile and cheerful exchange which was welcome and appropriate. It’s understandable that the menu choice is limited. Our friends from Ukraine are used to a greater choice. Parking was easy and the place warm.

Stayed 2 nights and we were so impressed with the accommodation, food, welcome and the staff. Room was clean, stylish and well presented. Food was delicious and the staff were so friendly and welcoming, particularly Mark and Justine! We were unable to take advantage of the breakfast on one of our mornings so Mark arranged for a packed up breakfast to go for that day. Would 100% choose to stay here again if we are back in the area.

Rooms looked beautiful however on finer looking, the floor hadn't been hoovered as bits everywhere and some minor stains on bed sheets. Small hairs in the bathroom shower tray. Everything else regarding staff and the pub/food was exceptional.

Lovely fresh refurbished rooms, the whole feel of the place is fantastic. Warm cosy seating area and the food was delicious! I think it had to be the most tastiest full English breakfast I've ever eaten 10/10 Would 100% recommend.

Very nice Sunday lunch. Service was a little interesting, the waitress brought three more drinks and then walked away with the tray in her hand and with our empties left on the table. I'm sure a little more training will fix that though. Overall, would recommend.

Honestly one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Vegan roast and cheesecake. Fabulous. Small issues like me not liking the seat they had allocated and the wrong wine arriving, dealt with quickly and courteously. Very nice inside decor and large outdoor area. Nice tables and a selection of chair types. Wheelchair access. Dogs welcome, which is great. Very reasonably priced circa £14 to £20 for a roast. Meat more expensive and pork and beef available. Good wine and drinks selection, cocktails too. Also non alcoholic drinks and wine. Loos pretty good, a tad small, but not even that could make me take a star off. Staff all pretty young and friendly and polite. Would not hesitate to recommend.
