A lovely country pub with a modern finish. Me and my partner stayed here for my birthday and they were very accommodating. Would highly recommend. If you were to go for Sunday dinner, we would suggest going early as there would be more food options available to avoid lack of stock. Overall nice experience
Overall a great experience. Having been to the Swan and Ring O Bells a number of times we wanted to try this place. Food was very good, but the service was not so great. We ordered a children's sausage, mash and peas with the gravy on the side. The waitress popped back within a few minutes as she'd forgotten whether we'd asked for mash or chips. When the food arrived the gravy was all over. Unfortunately our toddler is fussy (as many are) about sauce we sent this back and had to wait. After our food we wanted desert but after waiting around 20 minutes (our dirty plates had been collected) nobody came to offer any desert menus. We ended up having to go to the bar to pay. Happy to pay these sort of prices for the quality food and good service but when the service lacks it is a dissapointment.
I arrived very late in the evening and the staff accommodated me fantasticly well. I got escorted to the room which was one of several converted outbuildings. The room was extremely spacious and it and the bathroom were spotless and nicely decorated. The room had everything you could want including a nice coffee machine and hand baked biscuits, which were a great touch, and much better than the usual two pack biscuits in just about every other hotel. I slept very well after completing some work, where the WiFi worked superbly. In the morning the shower was powerful and kept it's temperature well and then the breakfast was excellent. The breakfast is served in the main pub and it's cooked to order. I had poached eggs on toasted sourdough and it was brilliant. Eggs cooked to perfection. Every member of staff encountered was a credit to the business. My only criticism is the breakfast orange juice was from a carton, which wasn't great. But overall I was really pleased with everything. I will be staying here again in the future for sure. I would thoroughly recommend this venue.
Nice village pub but a bit of a hike cross country at the time because the A38 was closed. Friendly, professional staff, very quaffable beers, and excellent food. We both had the flatiron steaks which were cooked to perfection. The breakfast was superb. A nice village but a little isolated from the nearby snd larger Wrington. closures and insane
I was really looking forward to dining at the Langford Inn to celebrate my birthday. The pub itself is beautifully decorated and has a lovely atmosphere, so our expectations were high. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to this. On arrival, we waited at the bar for several minutes before anyone acknowledged us, which wasn’t the most welcoming start, despite the bar team clearly seeing us as it wasn't very busy and there were three people behind the bar. Once seated, the service felt extremely disjointed. The menu looked fantastic and our prawn cocktail starter, when it eventually arrived, was actually delicious. However, the order sequence was muddled, with our mains brought out before the starters. Our steaks, ordered medium, were very undercooked (the rare end of rare) and even after being cooked further, they were still very rare, and my partners was quite sinewy. The peppercorn sauce for both of us was split, leaving our plates and food greasy rather than creamy, which was disappointing and we left quite a lot of our meal. Service throughout felt stretched. Staff seemed under pressure, although polite; plates sat uncleared for ages, the mains were underwhelming and by the time dessert was offered, we’d lost enthusiasm - and little things like asking to have the candle on our table lit was never followed up — so I ended up at the bar later trying to get matches. Overall, while the setting is charming, the food and service didn’t meet expectations, especially for a special occasion. It felt like a lack of experience and support in both the kitchen and front of house. Sadly, we left feeling underwhelmed and unlikely to return, which is a shame given how lovely the place itself looks.
Warm and welcoming, gorgeous food and really cosy, I didn’t want to leave. The staff are friendly and attentive and it’s in a stunning countryside setting. The rooms have everything they need and are exceptionally comfy. My dog loved it too and they went out of their way to make sure he was happy too. I can’t thank the staff enough for making it such a pleasurable stay.
A lovely pub with a great garden and nice indoor seating areas. We went for a Sunday lunch. The food was excellent and the service started off attentively. It did slow down a little, but I think it’s because we booked just after the lunch rush. Was not a problem though.
We stayed at the Langford Inn as it was fairly close to Cheddar Gorge. I can’t recommend this place highly enough, the room we stayed in was a ‘lodge’ across from the main pub, when we opened the door we both said Wow, it was perfect everything was new, clean and worked, the mini bar was well stocked to. The restaurant itself and the service was fantastic and both starters, mains and breakfast the following morning was top draw. We will return again, next time with the dogs, I’d definitely recommend this place to friends and family.
We stayed here as a couple for my birthday weekend. The restaurant and pub was lovely, with a new specials menu everyday. We particularly enjoyed the pork belly gnocchi and the sharing board. We stayed in the Langford Suite which was beautifully decorated with lots of additional touches (mini Prosecco, beer, toiletries). Perfect location to explore Somerset, we visited Cheddar and Wells. Thank you to the team and both managers who were very welcoming.
Christmas lunch at the Langford Inn today, excellent experience! Considering it was their first year doing Christmas lunch, we were impressed, it was like a well oiled machine. Service was the right level of attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The food was beyond plentiful and all delicious, the trout was a personal favourite. My only complaint is that it was too much, reducing the sides by half would of still left plenty. Thank you to all the staff for making our Christmas so easy and enjoyable!
