The poor review is for Boots and not for this specific store. I booked a blood pressure test on Boots website and received a text message confirmation and a reminder on the day. I took a bus after work to rush there just to be told they don't offer that service. What a disappointment. They're aware of the issue and had already informed Boots, but they haven't removed that store from the website. Really poor service Boots!

Good prescription service, sometimes closed with no warning but I think it's just a staffing issue, hasn't happened in a while

They are ridiculously slow to serve people, be it for medicine or even just a meal deal as you pop in after work. They need some competent staff because the current ones are utterly useless.

Beware, they tend to close early and take lunch from 13-14 (really more like 1250-1410 milk my experience). It can be difficult to get your prescription if you’ve got a busy schedule, so make sure to plan accordingly.

honestly I am not a karen but this is the worst experience I have had in a pharmacy in my life. Went in at 1.20 and was told by security that the pharmacy is closed from 1-2, I thought this was a bit odd but waited nonetheless to be seen. Came back in at 2pm and asked for my prescription, the lady told me that I would have to wait some time (didn’t tell me how many hours or anything) I explained that getting this prescription was quite urgent and that I was told by the Boots on Kings Road to come here. I explained that I was flying abroad tomorrow to look after a sick relative and she proceeded to shout at me quite abruptly saying that this medication wasn’t an emergency and that there were plenty of people in the queue before me and I have to be patient. I responded saying I understand but if there was anyway this could be prepared earlier as I had already been to two other pharmacies who both explained that the medication should be here. She said again I had to wait in a very rude and patronising manner. I left the pharmacy in tears with frustration. Honestly never been spoken to like that before and very upset by the whole experience. I understand there can be issues but I felt that the communication could’ve been less abrupt especially considering the circumstances I had voiced.

Went today and politely explained as an asthmatic who lives in another city and is visiting at the weekend, that I needed an emergency inhaler. Despite the NHS website making it clear that a pharmacist can issue one, provided they asked who my regular doctor is and recorded it. The pharmacist said no immediately and didn’t ask me how badly I needed it. I’ve had to get an emergency inhaler previously in places and have never been refused. The staff would be advised to research the NHS rules for emergency medication prescription.

Why is a city centre boots closing for lunch? It’s a joke, people are on their lunch break in town .?? Super slow service and always just 1 member of staff working with a pharmacist.

Arrived to collect a prescription, told to return at 2 the same day as no pharmacist available. Returned at 2 (more time away from work) only to be told pharmacist not back yet. Pharmacist eventually arrived at 2:15, asked for prescription then was informed pharmacy could not access new prescriptions as they don’t have a working smart card. Pretty poor service from this Boots outlet..

Very small boots that could probably do with a self service checkout to reduce queues. Irritatingly there only seems to be one pharmacist who always seems to be on lunch (1-2). I don't know if it is just me but I can often only get my prescription at lunch. As it is a working area in the centre where a lot of customers will be working, and pop in during lunch break, better pharmacy cover or a tweak in their hours might help? Staff friendly and always good service.
