Unfortunate experience in the KES Club this evening... largely down to one member of staff. We attended a private party and after saying our hellos, we ordered a Guinness for myself and a Coke Zero for my wife, and sat quietly down. 30 minutes later I went back to the bar and ordered a second Guinness, and sat back down. It's not the greatest pour in there, and the second pint came in a John Smith's glass, but I was happy enough... until, a young glass collecting girl came along. She picked up a bottle from our table (nothing to do with us), did some sort of shrug and walked off. Bizarrely, over ten minutes later she came back... "Hi, I'd just like to tell you that bringing alcohol in from outside is not allowed and I found a bottle on your table" "Yeah, I'm drinking Guinness love, from the bar, nothing to do with me" I said. I kinda thought that would be enough, but no, she had an idea in her head and was determined to run with it... "I'm not accusing you, but I'm just telling you that bringing other drinks in isn't allowed" Again, I said to her that the pint of Guinness in my hand was from the bar. Again, I was ignored. Her accusing sentence was repeated by her four times, directly to me, no-one else, and each time I told her I was drinking Guinness from the bar... but she wouldn't listen. Eventually, after warbling on, she went away... and must have reported her thoughts to the DJ, who made an announcement about bringing unlicensed alcohol in just a few minutes later. After this, I did get a third Guinness from the bar.. but was really not in the mood after being singled out for an accusation based on nothing more than ignorance and assumption... so, rather than stay and have several more pints, we left... and went home. Thanks for souring our one night out KES club. Everyones loss I guess. And for the record, whilst I do appreciate that you can't have people wandering in with bottles from the Offy... your glass collector got this one wrong, went over the top, and really needs to work on listening to people rather than blindly accusing them of things they haven't done based on nothing more than her own ignorance and prejudice. I won't be back anytime soon... and I'll be passing on the experience to everyone I know.

Great community, everyone welcome. Poker on a Monday evening (7.30 start) is a great laugh, good even if you are new to the game and it's FREE!!

Horrible atmosphere created by malicious ‘regulars’ who were happy (& aloud) to start on everyone in sight who wasn’t a ‘regular’ after verbally attacking they then took it to physical violence on 18 year olds, women, someone with cancer & attacking people they had on the floor. Staff then aloud these regulars to remain there and proceed their partying after the innocents who were attacked left. Bear in mind this was at a ‘family friendly’ event where children were present. Terrible place.

The experience was good, and my son loved meeting Santa. But wasn't to sure about the breakfast as it looked like something straight out of a Doctor Seuss book, "Green eggs and ham". When it came out, the eggs didn't look to healthy. Could see all the other tables had left it as well.
