   John was been teaching our 11 year old son for a little while now. He’s a brilliant teacher with a calm and encouraging approach. Our son has come on incredibly as a result. He’s grown in confidence and is trying all sorts of music genres on his electric guitar now. I feel like John’s obvious life-long enthusiasm for music is inspiring our son too. We’re very grateful to John for his excellent lessons and would recommend him to anyone. John was also very helpful in setting up our son’s guitar properly as we’re not guitarists in the family - we’ve appreciated John’s expertise with this too.

I have found John to be a vastly experienced teacher with a wealth of knowledge and resources that can cater to a variety of styles that has challenged me and improved my technique. He offers great flexibility and can accomodate my, at times, sporadic schedule. An easy-going and great teacher.

   Been having lessons with John for 6 months now from complete beginner to actually playing songs. John is understanding, patient & very knowledgeable about playing all guitar types, banjo, ukulele & the such like. He has a keen interest in various music genres: blues; folk; country; rock; synths, which he can chat happily about. He also has quite a few fun anecdotes from his life to tell! Great Teacher. Highly Recommend.

   I was struggling with my guitar progress. I was using all the apps and websites but I had hit a plateau and was making no progress. John assessed right where I was on my journey and quickly had me moving forward and I just keep progressing. He is patient but keeps you advancing. His vast knowledge of music and music history and his mastery of technique are a unique asset in a teacher. Highly recommend John.

Not only because he is a skillfull musician and teacher that can teach you all kinds of techniques and genres and can take you to where you want to go musically but also because he is a great human being and empathetic towards others!    Guitar lessons with John are always enjoyable. He is very adaptable and allows you to choose the music genre whilst showing you lots of great songs. I am really happy with the lessons and John is very flexible with the hours if you can't make it certain weeks.
