Went to zizzis yesterday (a match day) trying to find somewhere to have lunch with my daughter when Cardiff was packed. Zizzis wasn't our first choice, but they had a space and I'm actually glad we ate there. The food was great but the service was amazing. Ellie was super attentive and very friendly. Thank you so much

Paid a visit to Zizzi in Cardiff, despite it being a chain restaurant the food is always nice and you know exactly what youβre getting. We visited on a bank holiday Monday in August and found it relatively quiet. Service was good and we were quick to be served drinks and our food order taken. Wait time for the food was pretty standard for the dishes we chose and I donβt feel like we were waiting overly long. I had the lasagne which unfortunately didnβt look like the picture but still tasted nice. My husband had a calzone and which also tasted good. The venue itself was nicely decorated and clean and we were given a booth to sit in. When requested the bill was quick to come to the table. Overall a pleasant experience and exactly what I would expect from a Zizzi restaurant.

Had a lovely meal at Zizzi Cardiff β the pizza was spot on, and the chicken pasta was rich and full of flavour. Great service and warm vibes, definitely worth a visit!

Thank you to the staff for accommodating 10 of us at short notice on Saturday. We all had a great time! Food was great as usual, and the staff were incredibly attentive for our allergy sufferers. I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the server but he was great and we really appreciate the service we were given.

This was my first time visiting a Zizzi branch and honestly, I donβt think Iβll be returning. The redeeming part of the visit was the really polite and welcoming host. The overall service was good for a casual dining experience and made a solid first impression. Unfortunately, the food itself was just okay and nothing I couldnβt make better at home. I have a suspicion that many of the pasta dishes are made in batches or pre-packaged and reheated. When mine arrived, some of it was hot but there were a few small pockets that were cold. The garlic bread was nice, though. Iβm not sure if the dough was made fresh on site, but it was definitely cooked in their pizza oven and came out well. Overall, Iβm not convinced itβs worth the price. There are far better, more independent Italian restaurants that feel more authentic, usually taste better and are often cheaper too.

The food was great and delicious however the service was not perfect. It was slow and I had to leave without taking the dessert I ordered with my kid meal

Food was great. Your standard Zizzi. Hot and fresh Italian! However, service left a lot to be desired. Took a while to be served and an age the get the bill especially if paying with clubcard vouchers.

The ambience and service was really good. But the food and drinks were not up to the mark. Had ordered a spicy pizza, but the pizza lacked the spice and instead was very tangy.

Having always walked passed the place we decided to give it a go tonight. It was absaloutly awful. We were waiting to be seated/greeted for ages. And met by someone who spoke to soft I had to ask about 5 times what he said after I asked if there is accessible seating. We sat next to a Table that clearly has not been cleared for some time. We were explained how to order, which again we didn't hear anything. Between the two gentleman that were in the floor, absaloutly useless! The food was disgusting, table with dirty dishes next to us. It's tasted like something had died and gone rank on my plate and that of my friends. The only salvage was the friendly bar lady who discounted our mains. 100% would not recommend.

Terrible experience! I've eaten in various Zizzi restaurants over many years and always enjoyed, but this restaurant should not carry the Zizzi brand. Awfully slow service but not through lack of staff, they were simply disinterested! The person who I'm guessing was the manager had the worst attitude/behaviour, chatting to his mates and focused on his phone rather than keeping an eye on how the customers are! The service was so slow I nearly walked out. A couple in front of me spent 10 minutes trying to attract attention (the place was nearly empty) and eventually one of them had to get up and walk across to one of the waiting staff! They spent as much time explaining and persuading people to use the online ordering and payment app than the time to actually take the order or payment. I asked to pay using the normal way but the bill never arrived so was forced to pay online! The food service was slow as the kitchen appeared to be busy preparing Deliveroo orders, which were clearly prioritised over seated customers. Isn't it time for us to boycott restaurants that do this? Not a good experience and the Cardiff branch of Zizzi is definitely to be avoided.
