We came into Cardiff for an overnight stay and decided to try Franco Manca for their sourdough pizza. Food was delicious - We had the prosciutto and Funghi pizza, the Tuscan sausage starter and a side salad with tiramisu for dessert. Everything was delicious and our server, Ronny, looked after us so well. Thank you - we will be back when we come to Cardiff next. :)

The service and atmosphere was amazing. The food was spectacular and prices were affordable. Me and my friends walked straight in and got served when we didn't reserve. After finishing food, I unintentionally left my pizza takeaway box in the restaurant which got binned. The waitress immediately apologised when I returned to collect my pizza, realising I have forgotten it. Franco Manca made me another pizza, free of charge. I really appreciated this, would definitely recommend others to come.

The food is great. The pizza dough is fantastic. Reminds me of a story of great soup. I was so impressed I asked the waiter to try it to which he replied what's wrong with it and I said try it and he said is there not enough seasoning and I said try it and he said where's the spoon and I said aha (coming to America movie quote). Similarly the knives in this place couldn't cut Play-Doh. and ruins the experience. That is all that is negative about this place. At least give us some pizza cutters or food scissors, or an actual sharp knife to cut the beautiful pizza that you make. Everything else was sublime. The starter main and dessert for Β£25 per person was very reasonably priced. However, this appears to be just a Christmas offer. The only other reason there is a lack of a second star was due to a service tip being on the bill for only two people. I can understand for a group, but there was hardly anyone in the establishment.

Located in the heart of the city centre Franco Manca is a great resturant if you’re looking for sourdough Neapolitan style pizza. As it’s in the heart of the city centre, it gets busy so bookings are advisable especially on weekends and holidays. The starter of aubergine parmigiana was good albeit the tomatoes were slightly tangy side for me. This might be an authentic way however just a slightly sweeter taste would of been good to mellow out the acidity. For main course I had No.3 Franco’s OG Margherita pizza. Good height on the corcione and the base was crispy and chewy. Good depth of flavour in the piennolo tomato’s and the buffalo mozzarella was outstanding. The tiramisu for dessert capped of a good three course meal with a double espresso to finish. Shout out to the Negroni Sbagliato, outstanding alcohol strength and flavour in the cocktail! The service was good throughout, just lacked the thoughtful check in to see how my food was. I will definitely be coming back to taste their other pizzas and to see if the No.3 OG Margherita is really better than the No.2 Margherita pizza.

A Disappointing Experience (less > 1/5 stars) I rarely write such negative reviews, but my experience at Franco Manca Cardiff was thoroughly disappointing from start to finish. What should have been an enjoyable meal turned into a frustrating ordeal due to poor service and management. The staff appeared completely unprofessional and seemed to actively ignore customers. We waited an unreasonable amount of time before I had to go inside just to ask for a menu - something that should have been offered immediately upon seating. The inattentiveness continued throughout our visit, as we eventually had to chase down staff members to request our check. While the food itself was tasty when it finally arrived, the execution was severely lacking. Despite our order being ready in the kitchen, it sat there getting cold before being brought to our table. What could have been a pleasant dining experience was ruined by what appeared to be poor management and a disorganized staff who seemed overwhelmed or simply uncaring about customer service. The combination of unprofessional service, long waits, and cold food made this visit particularly frustrating. For a restaurant that prides itself on quality pizza, the operational failures completely undermined what might otherwise be decent food. I cannot recommend Franco Manca Cardiff, especially for families looking for a reliable dining experience. The poor management and lackluster staff make it impossible to enjoy what should be a simple meal out. This will definitely be my first and last visit to this location. Save yourself the frustration and choose somewhere else where customer service is actually valued.

Terrible attitude by service staff last night. We were made to feel like we were an inconvenience from the time we walked through the door until we left. I appreciate it was a Sunday evening and it was later in the day but if you really don't want custom, turn customers away. We were told we would be rushed through and yet we still waiting 20m for any service when seated. Even whilst ordering the gentlemen server was rolling his eyes when we were asking him questions about the menu. The food was very good mind. Fresh, piping hot and full of flavour. The starters came out with the mains and we decided to have the deserts to go as we didn't feel welcome to eat there any longer. I would like to visit again to try another pizza but for the time being I have been put off. Gluten Free was catered for with the caveat that the kitchen is full of flour. Understandable but two of us who require GF were catered for.

First time I've been to this place, and I thought it was rather splendid. This pizza was fantastic, with a good quality base, but I thought the options were rather lacking. The staff were very friendly, in a great location, and the place was as clean as a newly polished whistle. A few changes, and this could be a truly outstanding place.

Absolutely love this chain of pizza restaurants and so happy they've finally arrived in Cardiff! Pizza is still the excellent quality we've had before in the London based restaurants. You can't book ahead but there are a lot of tables to choose from so usually it should be fine to get one. Has a small range of cocktails, beer and wine, I had an Aperol Spritz. Service was really friendly and in good time.

We called in here for lunch on a Saturday...which just also happened to be on a rugby match day...so it was absolutely rammed full of people and extremely noisy. The pizza menu is quite limited, but provides enough of a selection to find something to try. We opted for a #3 - halloumi cheese, tomato, roasted potato, onion, mozzarella with minted cherry tomatoes, and a #7 - beechwood spicy salami, tomatoes, mozzarella, caramelised red onion with basil and chilli oil. The service was extremely fast, and the pizzas arrived in minutes, even though it was extremely busy. The pizzas looked delicious with a lovely brown crusty rim around the outside. But we were disappointed that the actual base of the pizzas...especially the centres were very doughy and wet from the toppings. They tasted and felt undercooked. The veggie pizza tasted delicious but the salami one didn't have much taste at all. The bill came to around Β£25 with 2 soft drinks which wasn't too bad. We've had better pizzas in town for a similar price. Perhaps they were rushing the pizzas out as it was so busy.

Saw this place was really popular so we tried it, staff were so friendly and attentive. Food was unbelievable and very reasonably priced! We both said it's the best pizza we've ever had! Will be going back again lots of times for sure!
