Best chip butty, vege burger and pili pili chips in Leicester. Leena and her team are still serving the same taste from decades ago. Hearty and clean food. Must try the sweetcorn salad!
The lady who served me Asa’s so considerate and kind. She kindly did a small amount of chips for my 1year old . I had the chip butty special the flavours were on point portions size was perfect so impressed will definitely come again
What an Amazing Throwback. Well Done for keeping this piece of my childhood open. The food was delicious- Veggie burger and pili chips - perfectly made with lovely pot of salsa. Winners!! We will be back for sure!
I came to DYT2 a few weeks ago, and the young girl behind the till was lovely and the restaurant is clean. Only major disappointment was the portion size. I ordered a dirty chip butty which cost me 5.25, and l appreciate this is probably the average price for a chip butty but the portion was tiny and definitely not worth the price. So only go here if you don't mind small portions.

What a delight to know the original Duka Ya Tambu is back! I had stopped eating chip butties as none could match their masala-sauces taste. Great shop for snacks with friendly people and service.
So happy to see Duka Ya Tambu back and the same familiar faces. The food tastes just as good and reasonably priced too. We had the famous vegi burger and pili pili chips (nice, hot and spicy). Same friendly welcome. The daughter runs the business now. She was very friendly too. Nice to see she is carrying on her parents legacy and I wish her all the very best. I hope customers are kind with their reviews here, for this new business. If you have a negative comment then raise it with the owner first before leaving comments here. Be kind. I have met her briefly yesterday and from what I have gathered, I think she would welcome constructive feedback.
Food is very good and same as before. Ordered on the phone and it was ready when I arrived to collect. Portions are abit small but they were small at the old Duka Ya Tambu. Nice to see new generation taking over a well established business.
