Top quality food. Not the cheapest but the chips are quality. And service is top. Notch inside. Not long on the waiting times either .
I ordered fish & chips, a doner kebab, and a curry as takeaway. I was pleasantly surprised by the speed of service and the kindness and friendliness of the team. Most importantly, the quality of the food was excellent, and the portion sizes were generous. Overall, I’m a very happy customer!
Went in as visiting my sister and ordered a lamb curry tonight staff friendly the place was nice and clean and ordered a lamb curry hot , it was very pleasing to find a urry which was a good portion lamb was tender not over tender the flavour was really wicked I had the hot one and was hot hot the way I like it but still had plenty of flavour really really enjoyed :-) I'm very hard to please very picky being a chef for 40 ish years and will say it was the nicest curry I've had in Leicestershire and yes eaten loads I will be back for sure , in the area people are very lucky to have a nice chippy with nice people and curry better than I've tasted around while visiting the area
Went in this evening, great people who were very welcoming, ordered Fish, and Chips, and a Pie, and chips...a short wait for it to be cooked, amd we tucked in. Piping hot, tasty, and it was just what was needed before heading off to the pub. Would definitely recommend you stop in if you want Chippy food, or Kebabs, or some home cooked Indian food. Nice bit of outdoor seating if you want to eat it whilst you're there too...
Haven't actually been to this fish bar in person, but I have had a few deliveries. Either we have sensitive taste buds or whatever oil they use tastes, almost like soap. Whenever we got a delivery, the chips tasted odd. Although it might just be something that happens when you get delivery because i've noticed this happens a lot with chip deliveries from different bars but then they never taste bad when you go to the bars in person. However, delivery was fast and well packaged. Seems like a good and reliable fish bar, so I don't understand why we had a bad experience. Maybe we're just not a fan of the oil they use. On the other hand, you do get a lot of chips for the money, so good value. Update: it's now March, and we got a takeaway again, and the issue with the funny tasting chips is gone, so I'm now leaving a rating of 5 stars!
Always go here every Friday lunchtime when I can. The chips are lovely, hot and proper chip shop ones cooked to perfection and curry sauce always nice and hot. Really friendly place, staff are lovely. They also do smaller portions of chips called a ‘cone’ but it comes in a small box - perfect for lunchtime. Always a nice vibe in this place.
Would give Prits & his team 5 star plus but unfortunately not an option on here. The food is always fresh & very tasty. Plus has plenty of selection besides fish & chips. The tandoori chicken tastes amazing. I would highly recommend the food from here.
I’ve never used this chippy before, I usually go to Cosby. I ordered food for delivery, it arrived well packed and hot. The chips taste proper good! I’ll definitely be back.
Not recommended at all. I have ordered Donner and tikka pita for me and my miss and day after we have huge food poisoning... Dish was barely warm and taste of it was like 1.5/5.. all salad is a lot of onions, 5 slices of cucumber and couple leaf's of ice salad... Price is not adequate to quality and taste. I would rather eat frozen pizza from Aldi then visit this place again. 1 attempt never go back again. __________edit_________ Day after my rieview owner want to talk to me about my bad experience. He offered me money return or next meal on house. I believe in second chances so I decided to have another meal some day. Month after my review I decided to try it again. My experience with food are totally opposite. The food was nice, warm and size really decent. I have ordered a doner in pitta and chicken tikka in pitta. Only shame is no vegetables or salad in dish, just flat bread, meat and souce. Generally attitude of owner is 5+ stars and all food owners should have same attitude. But in my opinion there is some place for improvement dishes. I think now 4 star is adequate review.
Ordered the delivery from their website. Only place that delivers in the surrounding area during covid. Reasonable prices, good portion sizes, free delivery (Update: no longer being delivered to my village, so reducing a star) and nice chips and doner meat. Chicken tikka marinade felt like the paste hadn't been cooked properly and was very salty and over powering. Curry sauce was acceptable. Overall, ok.
