1st time using since under new management. Very impressed. Had 2 doner wraps and chips. Lots of meat, salad and chips. Great value for money. Chips cooked to perfection and wraps were lovely.
My mum recently has moved to alderman's green which is why we tried this chippy. Our usual is Dhillon's which has gone really downhill. We have now been to Alderman's green chippy many times and honestly we love it. Food is super fresh and tasty and reasonably priced!
Used to use this chip shop when it was under previous management and thought I'd give it a go under new owners. Sadly I don't rate the food here any more, the doner kebab was very greasy and gave me a sore stomach for 24 hours, it came in a basic small pitta bread with a bit of salad for £8 which is very over priced compared to many other chip shops. Husband had a mixed meat tray with chips and that was also £8 but twice the size and much better value for money. We are a family of 6 and have take away night and was hoping to use this as it's our nearest but we will drive to Holbrooks to arena fish bar where they do a huge freshly made naan in a wood fire oven, loaded with meat and salad and you can only finish half of it and that is less than £8. This chip shop needs to review it's prices, bring them down or increase portion size and look at getting some quality extras in to make it better than the next place. Also need to bring back the shmoo milkshake machine that has now gone as that was one of the highlights. This will likely be another business that vanishes in a year once the locals try it out
Nice people, good service and generous portions at reasonable prices. The special are good value. The haddock is amazing. Today I had Mediterranean chicken and chips special. + a scallop thet was big and melts in your mouth. Street parking is plentiful
Very Friendly and quick service. We had large chips (huge!!) pie , beans, sausage and curry sauce. Everything was absolutely lovely. Chips were honestly the best we have had since we were kids at Granny’s. Little bit crispy on outsides and really soft and fluffy inside … Delicious! Sooo glad you’ve taken it over. We will be back very soon ! Thank you.
Standard of food has really dropped over last 18months. Sadly won't be using the chippy again.
Always the place from the Miners Arms and else where to here. Fish and chips, twice please. Cod, there is a load of chips, half of mine found there way into the bin. Fish was cooked well from frozen, defrosted, then battered. Firm local favorite here. Read the review on home delivery, the drivers get £9 sometimes, so for most shops, there the biggest earner.
Good food reasonable price. We had scampi and chips and pie and chips with curry sauce for £13 food was tasty and hot. They also do grilled fish and kebabs. We moored up at bridge 4 and only took 5 minutes to get there. Turn right after Bridge 4.
Can only comment on delivery, food is always hot, good portions, fish has crispy batter. Would recommend. The photo is the smallest size of chips you can get.
Everything else I got was fine however the chips are rancid. They're super soggy, no crunch and they actually look better in the picture than person. They're like a very light yellow colour, chips 0/10, other things (fishcake & battered sausage like a 7 or 8 /10
