Great, iconic restaurant in Central Bradford. I went for lunch. It wasn't busy. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was beautiful and inexpensive. Fab. I massively over ordered, having a mixed starter, then a chicken biryani and a chai. Could easily have done without the main because the starter (pictured) was huge.

Starters were disgusting. Refried, greasy and tasteless. Sent the mix platter back after a few bites, but not one apology!

My brother remembered coming here many years ago and recommended it. I have to say it was one of the best Indian meals I have had!Totally unpretentious and the quality of food was fantastic. We were given the warmest of welcomes. The menu was extensive. I ordered the mixed kari which was full of lamb and chicken whilst my brother had a vegetarian lentil curry and naan bread. Huge popadoms with homemade pickles and as many chapatis as you could eat! Absolutely delicious. Don’t expect a knife and fork, although I’m sure they would oblige if you asked. This place is authentic. If you’re in Bradford this restaurant is a must.

Friendly and pocket friendly curry house. Stripped back to basics as an eatery but food is good. Fuss free letting the food take centre stage. Well worth a visit. Excellent value.

Not the same as it used to be when it was basic but cheap, good food. Hygiene leaves a bit to be desired.

Attended afternoon time and not busy. Appears to be several houses converted into a Restaurant. Takes you back to 60's which isn't a great thing! Service was poor - ordered 2 sheekh kebabs, 2 fries, 3 curry dishes with Roti/Naan. For unbeknownst reasons the 2 sheekh kebabs were delivered by chef on their own....no fries, dips, cutlery etc. Had to ask for fries for the kids. The Curry's eventually came out beef curry/chicken curry and they were average. Unlikely to attend again.

Terrible service Sent food back as was not as ordered (chicken not lentils) and then received a spicy Korma dish after specifically asking for it to be mild - they do not listen seriously to your request. Be warned the Korma here is hot and you get laughed at for saying so!

Not one penny has been spent on this building inside . THE LADIES TOILETS!! WOW!!!! FILTHY !!! Made me heave, I don't think these have had any attention ie Cleaned, for years...How can you expect food hygeine/standards in the kitchen when they expect customers to use these disgusting facilities?? I went to the ladies after I ordered otherwise I'd be out the door...Now,the food... I ordered chicken Tikka and got breast on the bone tandoori chicken,no salad or sauce just a dry ,red 1/4 of chicken on plate which had an 'old' taste a small bowl of 'gravy' and some rice ..I thought just try it and see ..I said it was dry but no comeback from them ...My husband had chicken madras ,which he liked. Overpriced too 3 popudoms, 1 pickle tray 1 chicken madras with 2 chapati included. 1 1/4 chicken tandoori( salad or dressing) 1 gravy and a rice included For £26 Will not be returning

It's all about the food here. Don't expect anything remotely fancy about the service or surroundings and just enjoy the exceptional flavour of the food. Happy to drive 50 minutes to have curry here on a regular basis. Nothing else can compare. Cash only.

I've been getting food from here for 16 years and it's always been good, but last nights was the worst ever. We all (5 of us) said that the meals were all heat and no flavour. Never have we known a chicken korma be a hot as a madras, none of us could finish our meals. If it hadn't been a fifty mile round trip i would have taken them back and complained as this was £47 wasted
