Absolutely amazing, best salt and pepper box I've ever had. Portion size was huge. Chips, chicken, ribs, spring rolls and wings were all delicious. Arrived really quickly too.
10/10 - decided to let the Mrs have a night off of cooking as it's valentine's day. We had never eaten from here before but decided to give it a go as the reviews were good. Ordered salt and pepper chicken with rice, chips and S&S sauce. rice was cooked to perfection, chips were second to none and the chicken was literally out of this world. I have never had anything remotely as nice from a Chinese takeaway, every single piece of the chicken was like a 1/5th of a breast, spiced beautifully all the way through and cooked perfectly. Also very large portion of chips and chicken, the rice doesn't look as big but when you get it on a place it's very decent portion. A lot of times with Chinese crispy/salt and pepper chicken you will get little additional unwanted bits that make you question what you just ate, this left me with no concerns. Every piece felt like premium chicken and it was absolutely perfect from taste to texture.
Came here for our annual NYE takeout, diverted from our regular place as colleagues had rated it well. The starters were good (we got a mixed one to share), but the mains just seemed a bit bland. Between us we had the chicken in Szechuan, chicken satay, cantonese honey chilli chicken, mushroom curry, chicken chowmein, and a load of egg fried rice. The curry and satay went down well but found the rest of it really bland and tasteless. Third star is just for how lovely the staff were and how quick they were to prepare it, especially on NYE.
Had salt and pepper ribs, best ribs ever, very well cooked, lots of flavours and a generous portion. Looking forward to trying some more dishes from this takeaway! Update, now tried the Singapore vermicelli noodles (very nice, lots of tasty ingredients) Salt and pepper chicken with chilli honey sauce and chips. (very tasty and cooked to perfection, generous portions also) I've now got a food craving for this place. Highly recommended
Great food, great value
What can I say. This was amazing food. We had been going to same place for 12years but decided to try somewhere different. So glad we did. Will definitely be having it again from here. Very impressed.
This is the Best Chinese T/A in Halifax, prices are crazy low for the quality of the food is excellent. Had roughly 10 take aways now and only had 1 minor issue with one dish, otherwise I would rate 100/100, but official rating I would give is 99/100. But still the best in the area and the owner is very friendly and chatty aswell. 01/06/2021 updated review. I can not tell you how many times I have ordered, since I last wrote this review. The food is consistently Very Good/Excellent. The service from the owner has been Excellent. I can not thank this Take Away Eatery enough for everything they have done over lockdown, nothing is too much for them to do if requested in good time re Orders. (This is a genuine customer, and not paid or received any incentive for my own opinion or thoughts).
