Very very disappointed with the food my friend found a piece of plastic in his vermicelli noodles , the Cantonese style king prawn are not the same. They were about 6 king prawns in a sea of onions and sweet and sour sauce. The rest of the food is okay and thats putting it nicley . I will not be coming back . I got a response back from them and all they said was we are sorry to hear you dont like the food but we always put 9 king prawns in every king prawn dishes . I dont care about how many they were its how they were and the plastic in my friends meal etc...
10 out of 10 me and my partner order from here alot and it never disappoints. We get the £17 box and because we don't like chicken wings we ask to swap for extra spare ribs instead and they do it. Very friendly And the food is beautiful.
I wish I could give 0 stars, the Thai green chicken and beef curry were not edible, both meats were of a slimmy consistency, onions, carrot and mushrooms in the Thai green sauce, too too much msg used in both dishes, no flavour gloop which was meant to be the sauces. Called the shop they said they couldn't issue refunds so we had to go through food hub to get our refund. Please do not waste your money or time ordering from Golden Dragon.
The worst Chinese meal ever pure gloop . When did we start accepting sub standard food . I can’t believe there are any good reviews. Inedible and disgusting. You obviously don’t try your own food ??

My previous review stated it was consistently good (for 20+ years) then occasional mistakes since being ran by new management. I have noticed an improvement in recent months as it went through a period if declining quality. I do find it one of the better Chinese restaurants (There are 4 closer to me and I literally drive past 3 on the way!) and consistency has improved. To their credit I always have a fussy order asking for meals without specific ingredients or things changing and they always accommodate (I regularly order stir fry broccoli when it's not even on the menu!). My main criticism as of late, other than the excessive number of price increases in recent years, is many of the dishes get "gloopy" very quickly the second they are on the plate. Seems to be an over use of a gum thickening agent possibly to make the stock go further? Been more noticeable in the gravy based dishes and recently the OK sauce dishes. Also, ordering over the phone seems to be cheaper and results in freebies not given with online orders. From experience cooking times given on the phone are not accurate and your order will be cooked when you arrive. Review based on collection - would be less for delivery. Drivers can be seen with 2-3 (or more) orders and if you are last expect cold sweaty food.
Ordered at 22:29. Said would be 10-40 minutes. Arrived 40 minutes later with wrong order. Spoiled our Saturday night & were charged more than menu prices !
