Really nice chinese! Been here a couple of times and its been great both times. The salt and peper box was amazing and they're regular menu is also very tasty. Food arrived very quickly and the menu is reasonably priced. Will be ordering from here again!
My friends told me about this place a while back, and I keep finding myself coming back. You don't have to worry about cold, dry spare ribs, these will come off the bone! Great service, great food with a lot of variety. You're not going to regret it!
The worst Chinese take away. The food didn’t look like in photos I felt sick after eating Chow mein chef’s special and the Crispy beef ( chilli chef’s special) was like dehydrated and extremely dry didn’t taste like meat , and wasn’t spicy as expected but very very sweet. Total waste of money
Easily the best Chinese takeaway I have ever bought. My daughters and I were in Cardiff for a few days visiting my son, who is a student at the university. One night, we decided to have a Chinese takeaway and ordered from the Golden Phoenix. My son collected our order and it was ready when he arrived. We ordered egg fried rice, house special chow mein, Singapore noodles, chicken curry, and satay chicken. Every dish tasted fresh and delicious, and we also received complementary prawn crackers and a bottle of Tango. I wish I lived locally, as I would be a regular customer! Very highly recommended.
Second time ordering not long after they open at 5pm and same issue Chips over cooked and taste like reheats.Chicken balls full if grease and soggy batter also look and taste like reheats will never order from there again

We are in Cardiff to check the University and the area. Been walking all day so decided to go back to our hotel and just order Chinese food. We came across this site and has got a brilliant reviews. We were not disappointed. Tasty hot food. Generous serving and great value for money. Delivered in 45 mins as promised. We are soooo happy we will certainly order again if we come here again. Well recommended to all. Thank you Golden Phoenix. PS We always bring our plastic cutleries but you can ask them for one too.
The sweet and sour chicken is oddly shaped. The sweet and sour prawns have too much batter they looked abnormally big so I did not eat them. The prawn chow mein was nice but oily. The pancake rolls were ok. The free vegtarian spring rolls were all pasty and no stuffing I am glad they were free. The next time I am in wales I would try sammys and compare the two. The prices have gone up which is not reflected in the menu but there is a little piece of paper stapled inside stating this. Customer service could be better, I was told 10 mins and told the lady I am outside in my car waiting. And after sometime I went in cause it was past 10mins and the food was sitting on the side. I was literally parked outside the window a little or call or wave wouldnt have hurt.
