   It's like going back in time. Wonderful experience. A traditional, proper greasy, unpretentious place. What you see is what you get. Shame so many of these have been replaced with "hipster" places selling late and fancy toasties for an arm and a leg. This place is simply value for money. The full breakfast was superb, freshly prepared, toasts came buttered. Lovely staff, cheery, clearly loving what they're doing, full of pride. I'll be back whenever I'm in Halifax again.

   Just love this cafe , proper home cooked style food . I had a hot beef and onion sandwich with gravy and chips . It was very tasty , the chips and gravy were the best I've had . Lovely staff and food brought to you quickly and piping hot . Definitely recommend this place and good prices

   Step back in time, a simple time, a time when you just ordered a coffee... This is a real, no frills, cafe that time forgot. Please may it never change . Bacon sandwiches; Full English breakfast; Burger, chips and peas; Pie, beans and gravy; washed down with a steaming cup of tea (on a saucer) - all at reasonable prices. Forget about the coffee chain 'coffeehouses', and trendy spots, take a break from your shopping / site-seeing and relax with no pressure and support a Halifax institution...

   It's a beautiful little traditional coffee house at the centre of the Halifax. Everything is reasonably priced and delicious. The chips are amazing and so is the English breakfast. I would definitely try their pies next time i visit. Only wish there was pram accessibility.
