It’s a nightmare to live next to this pub. Their owners don’t care at all about local residents. Constantly playing loud music after their 11pm license, and constantly letting customers shout outside the pub after 11pm. Tonight it’s been going on until 12.30am, shouting and screaming on the benches outside the front. The owners just do not care. Multiple people have messaged them, so unfortunately a diary has now been logged and getting sent off to the council in an attempt to close this place down, by multiple people.

Amazing pub that's was exceptionally friendly and had great cask ales available. Huge outdoor seating area to the rear with overhead cover and heating.

Fantastic service in this regular entry into the Good Beer Guide. Cask ales more on the traditional side on sale in the lounge bar - turn left when entering. CAMRA discount for members.

A well restored Victorian Pub which has managed to refurbish without losing it's character. Excellent choice of beers and cheerful service. Great atmosphere and massive choice of gin.

Great traditional pub with friendly people but they use autovacs or return trays that recirculate cask beer back through the dump tray into your beer. I understand it was once normal but this is 2023 and it is unsanitary. If owners were really proud of it then put up a sign so everyone knows it's in use. Edit: the point that it works for regulars is great, but the vast majority going to pubs using autovacs do not know they are in use, even CAMRA members (of which I am one). If you believe recirculating beer from the drip tray back into a glass makes it better then please consider promoting that. It is interesting that no one does (Ossett did on their website but have since taken the page down btw). By not disclosing it people cannot make an informed choice.

Visited on Christmas eve. It was very popular. Plenty of choice of Ossett Brewery real ales and ales from the onsite brewery. The food looked nice, plenty of people were eating, so it must have been good quality. It's a lovely conversion from the old tram shed. If you park onsite, put your registration number in the machine at the bar, or risk a fine. I'll definitely visit again!

Fantastic choice of real ales - six or so on my visit. Great service too in this simple no-frills, traditional boozer.
