Came here for brunch today and everything was perfect. Kody was serving us and we had a few interactions with Alisha (I think she was the manager) and both were lovely. So kind and helpful. Drinks were stunning, and the food just as good! Definitely both a great asset to the team ❤️
I'm here every week, and it never gets any better. Dont get me wrong, I still drink here and will continue to do so, but I've seen paint dry quicker than most of the staff move! Thats even if they actually get to serving you at all. There are a few staff that are stellar, namely the managers, and a small few of regular staff, but they really ought to start thinking about who they hire, or at least get people to do a trial run and ask for feedback on them - the service is genuinely a running joke between me, the lads and the regulars, truly laughable
Had a lovely time doing the Xmas bottomless brunch. The server we had I think he said his name was Arthur was a lovely lad he did a wonderful job with us. Will definitely come back again.
Was there on Wednesday for the first Jam night they have started to host. Honestly I didn't know what to expect. But the staff were friendly and welcoming, all the musicians were brilliant. I had a go myself and played some original music i had written and the reception was brilliant as someone whos never done my own music it really helped my confidence. Will definitely be back again
Had a really nice time here and enjoyed some top quality food. The bartender Lincoln couldn't have done more for us if he tried. A lovely place with great food and a brilliant atmosphere, a must go to if you visit Halifax.
We called here for a bite to eat at lunch time, first impressions were great large pub, the place was lovely and clean the staff were great and not too fussy we were left alone to chat. I would deffo recommend lunch here and especially in January it’s 50% off. Thankyou keep up the good work.
Had a great night watching The Rebel Sounds who were a great high energy band. My husband loved the guiness which of course should be the case in an Irish themed bar. We ate whilst there and the fish n chips and bacon/cabbage/mash in a parsley sauce were excellent. The band members had burgers which they told me were delicious. The bar seemed very popular with wide range of age groups and seemed very popular with the enthusiastic crowd. Would have scored 5* but the ladies toilets by 10pm were filthy, swimming in water, discarded toilet roll and broken glass. I reported this to a female staff member but nothing was done - such a shame as women wearing sandles were cutting their feet.
We've moved away from Halifax and not been in here for years so went in to see what it had become. I liked the decor and as we were leaving there was a band setting up. It's a large bar but with lots of nooks and crannies. However, what brought the score down a notch - our first impressions weren't great - when we walked in a barman was serving two guys (who from where we were standing seemed very nice / normal / reasonable) and the way he spoke to them was appalling. Snapped at them with a right face on him. For the few rounds we were there this same barman didn't crack a smile once. I'm not sure why some people work in a customer facing role as it was uncomfortable to watch.
