I went into the 52 recently after hearing it had been taking over by new owners. I regularly used it on a Sunday lunch for the famous homemade roast dinners. The pub has always had a bad reputation of young clientele doing drugs on the premises and known for fighting. Well I wasn’t disappointed on my visit I got to see people’s eyes popping out their heads and suspicious small packages being pasted around the tables.. I also managed to have excellent viewing of a young girl (believed to be landlady) screaming at another female and then escorting her outside for both females to return into the pub together and start drinking shots at the bar. while glasses were being thrown by another young girl at a lady standing at the bar and lads also having shouting matches inside and outside of the pub all of which I can not recall seeing any staff putting a stop to or trying to calm the situation. So my overall experience, What can I say I wasn’t disappointed one bit that the 52 still keeps it ongoing reputation since the 90s! And the free comedy show which i got to witness on my visit was absolute class as always, however I will not be rushing back and will sooner stay in to watch corrie, I will also be surprised if this pub is still open come the summer because without the delicious homemade food which was served there previously this pub doesn’t have anything going for it other than all the local youths who are barred from elsewhere

Love this place, the friendliest Landlord (Carl) & Staff! Sunday lunch is spot on. The live entertainment is Brill (Blondie tribute act was amazing, looking forward to Madness!) Keep up the good work Carl, absolutely amazing! Xx

Great pub, not as fancy as some pubs but the food and welcome outways all that. The breakfast is amazing and the Sunday lunch is fantastic. Definitely recommend it .

Called in for a hot beverage and to 'suss out' our future local having viewed a retirement community development that we both would like to move into which is located just around the corner from the pub. We were greeted and served by the landlord and was introduced to his good lady and made to feel very welcome. We shall look forward to visiting again when we take up residency in the not too distant future. Thank you and bless you for making our first visit a pleasant one.

Visited on Sunday with the family, since it is across the street from where we swim. Very friendly staff, and my boys had a great time in the garden. Sunday roast was great! Will definitely return.

On my only visit here the staff were nice, the pub was quiet, the beer was good, but I can't give more or less than an average score, since it was one single visit in the day. This quickly became my favourite pub. Kid friendly, excellent staff. Nice beer and food.

A typical local pub with a lively local cliental. The pub was clean and a good selection of beer, ciders and lagers.the meal taken was a choice of roasts. They were well cooked and presented also they were hot. The meal area was a little dark.the staff were friendly. The toilet area was clean and well presented but the doors to the cubicles was not able to be secured I will definitely call again.

Been meaning to try here since we moved to the area. Have been three times in two weeks! Absolutely fabulous Sunday Lunches, reasonable priced Don’t eat for a day if you have the extra large! Breakfasts are also fabulous. Warm and friendly welcome by the owners. Highly recommend a visit.

Wow. What change to this pub. New management has brought a old pub to life. New menus and fantastic new garden area which was completed during lockdown. Live acoustic bands on certain evenings. Food is fantastic and all freshly cooked. Credit where credit is due. Please check this place out if you get a chance. A very underrated pub in my opinion. With the potential to be a "go to" place if you give it a chance. Family friendly and well set out for social distancing with hand sanitiser throughout.
