Great tasting food with plenty of choice from what you'd expect at a steak and grill restaurant. Service was a little stretched when we were there, but additional staff seemed to start shift as we were leaving around 7 PM.

Really nice place, decent selection of drinks, food was appalling! Can't believe they've the cheek to charge 20 pounds for the appalling standard of steak delivered! Was cooked really well, but quality of the steak was pretty average, the rocket was really sad and depressing, the promised mushroom was more than rubbish, and the sauce they'd charged an additional 3 pounds for, was an appalling half a tiny pot! Disgraceful!!! Wouldn't bother going here for a meal! Real shame, it's a stunning place with so much potential, they just need to employ a decent chef!

Maybe more salad on Lasagne as was like a children's salad! But still nice Toilets and baby changing facilities available. Wheelchair and pushchair accessible Plenty of parking

I would recommend this restaurant as the Staff are friendly and welcoming and the place is lovely and clean inside. We had a yummy roast meal. The lamb was soft and cooked to perfection with vegetables cooked perfectly. All in all a great tasty meal.

Always had relatively great experiences here both a mixture of visits for breakfast, lunch and dinner. For the most part staff are attentive and friendly and the food is great. We have had occasions of less attentive staff which can sometimes ruin the experience a bit especially when you pay for unlimited drinks and only end up with the initial ones as you’ve not been able to order them (which has happened on a few occasions).

Not our first visit but definitely our last! Noticed the menu had changed. I couldn't find anything that I really wanted so chose another starter with triple cooked chips & mini corn on the cob. My husband decided on fish & chips. The sharing platter to start was disappointing. Our starters had not been cleared when our main course was brought out. The fish was triangular in shape & the coating, which could not be described as batter, was soggy. My triple cooked chips, weren't & the only thing I could taste (& smell) on the corn was the overpowering flavour of the grill. The Observatory has been a good option when staying at the hotel next door, but we are now going to have to find somewhere else - such a shame!

6 family members had a main meal and desert last week. Whilst some of the dishes were enjoyable, others were not so good and very average quality for the prices. The staff seemed okay but not to attentive however the desert options were very limited. With that, most of us had some sort of crumble pie and custard which was not very good at all. It didn’t look very appetising and was like eating a mush apple pie with microwave custard. On a whole the place is average, you just need to make sure you pick the meals which can’t be messed up in the microwave!

Pre lockdown we used to go to The Observatory every month or so for breakfast as a treat. We liked the buffet style cooked and continental options as it meant we can satisfy ourselves and the kids with what we wanted to eat. This was the first time we've been since lockdown restrictions have eased a little. When we went in, part of the restaurant not normally used for the breakfast service was closed off. A one way system has been implemented with stickers showing directional arrows on the floor to guide you around. It appears that a few tables have been removed to help with distancing, although the layout has a number of booths, some of which are blocked off currently. Screens are used in places where they can't otherwise enable distancing. Whereas it used to be a buffet, you now need to place an order with one of the servers. You can request additional items later if need be and our servers did come by regularly to check if we wanted anything else. Hot and cold drinks are still self-service, as is the toaster. Unfortunately, it appears the changes have reduced some of the options. For example, pancakes are not an option for the continental breakfast, and there was no fruit smoothie option with the juices. Our breakfast was still a pleasant experience but I do hope that once the current crisis is over that they revert to the buffet style.
