We visited The Copt Oak in Markfield for a big family meal and honestly… the company was the best part, because the food certainly wasn’t trying to impress anyone. I ordered the turkey roast, which arrived so dry I’m convinced it had spent the morning sunbathing. The roast potatoes tasted like they’d come straight from the freezer aisle, the veg was barely cooked (practically still photosynthesising), and the Yorkshire pudding was burnt to the point it could’ve been used as a coaster. My partner’s hunters chicken schnitzel was even more “memorable” — the chicken was so undercooked I’m surprised it didn’t get up and start clucking. The breading was soggy, as if it had been heated in a microwave and immediately given up on life. To add to the experience, another family member sent their meal back, only to be told they could have it redone. Given the quality of the rest of our food, we thought a second attempt might actually be worse, so we politely declined the culinary roulette. Portion sizes were also tiny for the price — though in hindsight, maybe that was a blessing. The only saving grace was the serving staff, who were genuinely lovely and did the best they could. But based on the food alone, I definitely wouldn’t recommend dining here

We were greeted as soon as we entered and confirmed our name and booking, warm welcome extended and taken to our seats and advised someone would be with us shortly. On cue a lady arrived to provide us with our menus and asked if we would like to order drinks. Drinks came quickly and shortly after lady came back to see if we were ready to order or if we would like more time... We were ready!! We opted for the Trio of Roast and it did not disappoint!!! Young lady who then delivered our meals enquired if we would like any extra sauces and again returned promptly. Beautifully presented and deliciously tasty.... Staff were happy, welcoming and on the ball!! We will be back.

It's the 2nd time we've visited and chose to meet friends here today for food and a catch up. The food was good quality, reasonably priced and absolutely delicious. The staff were lovely, friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is homely and just perfect for a good old catch up. We will definitely return soon and it will likely become a venue we frequent in future. We highly recommend it.

Visited today with my elderly parents . Very accessible . My dad loved it. He had the ultimate burger and ate the lot … which was so good to see as he’s been not eating much lately! We all had a wonderful time and finished our drinks in the beer garden. Also- super dog friendly!

Stopped in for some food. The signature burger was very nice. Had crispy edges, which I assume was intentional and not just the chef getting distracted halfway through. Either way, it worked. Would eat again. My other half ordered the beef and Malbec pie. Tasted great, apparently. Looked great too – very photogenic for a pie. The only issue was the beef itself, which showed up late and in very small numbers. Two pieces, to be precise. For £17, you expect slightly more than a cameo appearance from the main ingredient. The pub itself is nice. Friendly staff. In summary: Food – good. Value – beef-dependent. Atmosphere – pleasant enough. Would I go back? Yes.

Went back to Copt Oak with friends and family after hearing it’s been refurbished. It’s changed so much! Feels more open and modern inside and much nicer than before. Food was excellent and the waiter was really friendly and helpful. We’ll definitely be frequenting more now it’s changed.

Brilliant food and excellent service! We were a big group to cater for late in the day, but our food was delicious and we would all highly recommend! Next time I'm in the area, I will be returning. Thankyou to all the staff that contributed to our fabulous experience.

Outstanding service and delicious food We came to the Copt Oak today to celebrate my mother in laws 80th Birthday. Prior to the time of our booking I brought in some obnoxiously large helium number balloons and a birthday cake for after dinner. The staff were more than happy to help with them. When we came at the time of our booking the balloons were on the table. The manager offered games like snakes and ladders for our children to play which was lovely and appreciated. The food we had was delicious. Restaurant quality. Certainly didn't feel like pub grub. After our meal they brought out the birthday cake and the staff had put it on a big wooden serving board and written Happy Birthday in chocolate sauce and added some strawberries. Three of the staff delivered it and helped us sing Happy Birthday. It was such an extra, unexpected, kind thing to do and really made the Birthday girl feel special. The manager also gave her a Birthday card!Amazing! Couldn't be happier with our experience today.

Visited Saturday morning and had the mixed grill as a main course and banoffee ice cream cake for dessert. Service was good and the food was nice. The pub itself was clean and well kept.

Well, We had the most fantastic meal. Cooked to perfection just how we ordered our steaks. The staff are so so friendly and really helpful. And YES you can take your dogs in the cosy side with you. What more would you want on a day out with your most precious family, your dogs. Staff made such fuss over the dogs making us all feel so welcome. Copt Oak offers blankets for your dogs to lye/sit on. Free Biscuits, Bowls water for your dogs at each table. What a brilliant time we all had. On top our list every time from now on. Oh and another fantastic offering for disabled persons, A lift for wheelchairs, so if you want to go to the cosy seating with your dog/ or not as case mybe a lift will support you.
