   Barcan & Kirby have consistently provided my family a fabulous service in property transactions and other legal work over the past 40 years. The whole team find solutions to difficult problems every time, often they end up resolving issues on the other side that opposing solicitors don't know how to deal with. Naomi O’Brien has done an excellent job for us on property sales and purchases recently. She recently acted on a more complex than usual house sale, acting quickly and efficiently to close down queries from day 1, allowing completion to take place in under 2 months. Alex Castiglione is also an excellent solicitor for property matters. I’d thoroughly recommend them both. They advise on the key risk areas, and cajole entire chains to push things along. B&K have always successfully resolved any stressful property legal issues we've encountered.

   My partner and I had a fantastic experience with Sally and Betty and will certainly go with Barcan & Kirby for any future house moves. Having previously had very poor experiences with conveyancers, Sally was a breath of fresh air - she was professional, efficient, communicative and personable and managed to resolve some ongoing issues with our sale and purchase at speed. She advocated for us and it felt like we could hand everything over to her and it was all perfectly managed with regular updates - something which we have never experienced before! Betty was also fantastic and processed our paperwork and other practical elements of the sale very quickly, with clear instructions and was always very friendly and responsive to our emails. We would highly recommend!

   I explored legal options after approximately 3 & ½ years of workplace discrimination and harassment within my employer complicated further by compromised union support, having raised numerous grievances and raising public interest concerns. I found Barcan & Kirby personable, professionally reassuring and supportive from the outset. Throughout I felt that Barcan & Kirby not only appropriately listened, but empathised honestly with my experience. In partnership they enabled me in exploring such matters legally which had led to a continuous and very painful and distressing employment experience for myself and my family, and which attempted to seriously threaten my future without factual base after 24 years in the profession. I worked with several members of the firm who I found courteous, dedicated and sufficiently understanding where I was made to feel finally valued. I worked primarily with Alicia Bourada as my solicitor who I found approachable, assiduous, knowledgeable, diligent, empowering and straight talking. Having been dehumanized by the entire experience and not entirely understood by other legal firms, I felt reassured that indeed that I mattered as together we explored legally my cases. It was by so doing that I was able to draw an acceptable line under this horrid experience and begin to contemplate attempting to get on with my life after such mistruths. Alicia was transparent from the beginning regarding the costs and my cases. I am immensely grateful for Alicia and the team for their conscientious, thorough, unwavering and personable support. Alicia kept me updated regarding matters and was easily contactable as it is without hesitation that I thoroughly recommend herself as a solicitor and the firm upon such employment matters.

   Samantha Castle handled my personal injury claim against an old employer after a workplace injury. She was outstanding - extremely knowledgeable and professional. I absolutely could not have achieved the resolution I achieved without her. Although my employed accepted liability immediately, it still took 3 years to reach a settlement - this is 1 year quicker than the national average. Without Samantha’s support throughout this time, I would have given up and simply not bothered. She kept me updated and was totally transparent about costs. She comes across as highly ethical and honest and is a straight talker so you know exactly where you stand. I am so grateful to Samantha and would not hesitate to recommend her. Worth absolutely every penny (and her fee was capped, so totally reasonable).

It’s also really helpful that you can drop documents into whichever branch is most convenient for you regardless of which one your solicitor is based in.    We've been dealing with B+K for years for selling properties in Bristol. They've been very efficient and always responding professionally. We are dealing with them now for a different matter and their response has been extremely disappointing. Unprofessional, without any regards for our requirements. They demand upfront payment when engaging with one of their senior solicitors and the follow up has been nil, zero after nearly 2 weeks. We find ourselves in the position where having wasted that upfront fee (not cheap),are looking elsewhere for someone to represent our small business. As an edited post I have to add that BK did eventually get back to us . They are dealing with our matter in a professional and efficient way at the moment and hopefully will continue to do so. I hope that in the future, communication with clients is improved at the initial stages.
