I don't think I've ever left a review as bad as this before. We had two nights here. It was like going back in time. Room hasn't been updated in years. Double bed plushed up against the wall. Headboard hanging off, mattress has seen better day's. Bedding and towels are well pass it.No heating in the room. Bathroom was no better, shelf messing above the sink so nowhere to put anything. Shower was a trickle cold or red-hot. Shower screen only opens half way. Smashed my head on the ceiling in the shower as it's that low. Really noisy at night as the only way in or out after hours was via the fire escape and you needed to slam the door. Oh the room wasn't touched on the second day by staff. Awful beer, ended up drinking wine. Couldn't wait to leave. But on the plus side staff were good and it's got a big car park.

Richard is as very welcoming and friendly. Always checked if I needed anything. The location was great as was the beer. It was quiet and the bed comfy . The rooms may need an update but it served my needs and it was practical. Thank you Richard.

Just had a lovely home made stake and ale pie, honestly one of the best I've ever had, no soggy bottoms here. Neckoil IPA on tap, think I may be in heaven. To top it off we where welcomed with our motorhome to stop for the night and we could bring our dogs into the pub too. We will be back next time we are in the area. Thanks so much to the owners!

Went to the Barley Mow for Sunday dinner, absolutely lovely. Choice of 1,2 or 3 meats with lovely veg. Offered cauliflower cheese, this does cost extra but was lovely. The meat was from Joseph Morris and it was lovely. Prices start at Β£12.95 for one meat and increase by Β£1 for each meat chosen. The beef was lovely, pork was lovely and yes so was the gammon. Far better quality than these βcheapβ carvery places. The food was cooked so well, and you didnβt have to queue. Will definitely be returning.

Great pub located close to the canal, really friendly owner, allowed us to wash our clothes in the washing machine for a fair price. The food was great pub food, came out quickly, well priced. The drinks are priced well also. If you're coming through on a canal boat there is a mooring nearby so you can stop and eat/drink. They also have facilities for people in motorhomes to park up and stay for the night, really accommodating and friendly. Highly recommend if you're in the area.

We are a family of 5 with 2 dogs and stopped here for Sunday Lunch after a morning walk. The Landlady and staff were superb, accomodating us and the 2 dogs. Very friendly, lunch and deserts were superb and even the dogs were well fed! Highly recommended and we are all looking forward to stopping by again soon!

This was my first visit to the Barley Mow. Having arrived by canal boat. The pub sits beside the Newbold Tunnel with easy access to both local amenities and the tow path walks. So it's a package of relaxing with a drink, pub grub and real ale too. At 3pm the locals were watching international cricket and service from lunch just ended. The staff were welcoming as is the decor traditional and welcoming too. A proper canal side pub!

We have passed this place on the way down in our barge.... it looked a bit ordinary, however, we turned and stopped. The meal was outstanding! Where do you find a lattice as fresh as if being picked 5 min ago at 20.00 pm? All our 3 meals were excellent! .... It casually assumed no fuss for such quality and it was memorable.

Outstanding! Amazing service, the owners are so lovely and will go out there way to help with anything you need without hesitation! They accept campervans although it's a pub primarily they will try to offer any services and amenities you will need! Also good company and very welcoming! The food is bob on and they show the football! Definitely a big recommend!

My favourite pub in Rugby (and there are plenty to choose from!). Always a friendly welcome, great beer (2 or 3 well kept ales always on tap) and good food. Kids can play in the big garden and the canal runs at the back of the pub allowing you to walk off dinner!
