Great local coffee shop with good food choices and decent prices, even if it looks exquisite. The staff is friendly but no pushy. PS I loved the toast

This is a gem of a place. Just opposite the Old Rompney Castle in Wentloog Road. The ladies serve a wide range of quality food, from breakfast and hot and cold sandwiches and light brunch such as salads and jacet potatoes. There is a wide variety of hot and cold beverages including iced latte and teas and a good choice of cakes to tempt you. Really relaxed atmosphere and spotlessly clean, you really can't find places like this anymore as the prices are extremely affordable and you can ring in ahead and collect.

Whilst out walking today we paid a visit. Having read the reviews we weren't disappointed. On arrival Mikey the owner came over, introduced himself & made us feel most welcome. His lovely wife popped her head out of the kitchen & said hello. As a customer who needs a gluten free diet he made me feel at ease, assuring me the kitchen are diligent whilst preparing & serving such dietary requirements. My food arrived, hot & delicious as was my husbands. Colin the cockatial was most amusing too. Facilities were clean & easily accessible for disabled. Thank you Mikey & Maria for making us feel so welcome.

Stopped in for breakfast and coffee. Coffee was lovely but breakfast was basic. A couple of rashers of very thin streaky bacon and 2 basic pork sausages with dry overcooked scrambled eggs and a pot of beans on the side. The toast was lovely; 1 slice of thick brown multi-seeded bread. The room felt cold and damp and the salt packets had been damp causing the salt to clump inside. As a take-away coffee shop Maria's excels, but sadly I won't be returning to dine-in.

Went in for lunch and to do some work on the laptop. It was the lunch rush and busy but staff were very friendly and efficient. Its been a while since my first visit which wasn't long after they first opened so the menu now has far more choice than before so there is something everyone. I had the tuna mayo baguette and a latte which were both very nice. Looking forward to going back.

Lovely little hidden gem. Myself and my husband stumbled across Maria's Coffee & Sandwich Shop by accident. We were looking for somewhere to get breakfast after dropping the car for an MOT. I'm so glad we found it as the service and food was great. I would highly recommend a visit. If you happen to be in Rumney pop in and sample for yourselves, what are you waiting for?

We love this place. My friend is obsessed with the pancakes bacon and syrup. Myself on the other hand a coronation chicken baguette and lots of salad. The coffee is amazing too!!! Staff are fab. We love this place xx
