Hey! I'm Cardiff Guitar Guy and I have been playing outside this coffee shop for the past two years in the summer months. When I play I always order a delicious espressso and sometimes something to eat as well. The quality of the coffee is very nice. They kindly let me borrow a chair and sit in front of the coffee shop and play a summery blend of Latin music and gypsy jazz for the customers. All in all, I very much recommend this place and if you drop by next summer you might well get the chance to hear me play!

No coffee art, burnt coffee taste and dirty tables. Shouldn't be charging that much for a mediocre coffee.

Yes, it’s a chain and Cardiff has some cracking indie coffee options. However, the various Caffè Nero branches in Cardiff are consistently high end. The coffee is decent and having sat in the Trinity Street location for half hour has proven a relaxing experience, even in the heart of a city centre. The barista here clearly knows the regulars in terms of life details and drink preferences, with the place also being clean and efficient, yet really chilled with instrumental music playing and several of us spending some time reading and slowly drinking in addition to the takeaway customers. Credit where it’s due - this is a nice place to sip and chill.

We visited this Caffè Nero branch for the first time in a few years and were very pleased with the service and drinks we received on our visit. We visited on a weekday morning and there were plenty of seats available at this time and no queue at the till, although it did pick up a bit while we were enjoying our drinks. We had our usual decaf cappuccino and luxury hot chocolate and were very pleased with the usual Caffè Nero standard.

Nero Coffee is an absolute gem in the heart of the city! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere. The décor is modern yet cozy, creating a perfect environment for both relaxation and productivity. Whether you're here to catch up with friends or get some work done, Nero Coffee provides the ideal setting. The coffee here is simply exceptional. Every cup is brewed to perfection, with a rich aroma and a full-bodied flavor that stands out from other cafes. Their espresso is top-notch, and I highly recommend trying their signature lattes – they're both creative and delicious. The baristas clearly have a passion for their craft, and it shows in every sip. But Nero Coffee isn’t just about great coffee. Their selection of pastries and light bites is equally impressive. I particularly enjoyed the croissants, which were flaky and buttery, and their sandwiches, which are made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. There’s something on the menu for everyone, including a variety of options for those with dietary restrictions. What sets Nero Coffee apart is their commitment to customer service. The staff go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. They are friendly, attentive, and always ready to offer recommendations if you're unsure of what to try. In addition to all of this, the ambiance is just perfect. The soft background music, comfortable seating, and ample natural light make it a pleasant place to spend time. They have free Wi-Fi, which is a bonus for those who need to work or study. I’ve also noticed that the café is impeccably clean, and the attention to detail in maintaining the space is evident. Overall, Nero Coffee is a fantastic spot that I cannot recommend highly enough. Whether you're a coffee aficionado or just looking for a great place to unwind, this café ticks all the boxes. I'll definitely be coming back regularly! !

Set within Howell Dept. Store (used to be the former foodhall). A lovely coffee and cake was had. Not sure how long it will stay open, as the store is due to close very soon.

Disgusting experience. Entered through the House of Fraser entrance (there is no door to enter the cafe inside House of Fraser) and went to have a look at what was in the fridge to eat. The young man on the till went out of his way to come over to us looking and said “YOU HAVE TO JOIN THE QUEUE”. We didn’t know what was going on as we weren’t in the queue or trying to queue jump, we were just looking at what food was in the fridge which is located away from the queue and by the main door entrance. He walked away so my partner asked him what do you mean? He said “YOU SHOULD WAIT OUTSIDE. THE SIGN ON THE DOOR SAYS ONLY 3 PEOPLE AT A TIME” gesturing us to go out the main door. By this point, more people had entered the cafe, but only after we were already there looking at what was in the fridge. My partner said that we entered through the House of Fraser entrance and as there’s no door there, there’s no sign. He then said “DONT BE SARCASTIC WITH ME”. We then left without ordering. He made us feel embarrassed for no reason. It is noted that my partner was the only dark skinned person there and he did not make any comments to the people coming in after us who were all white. If there was a 3 person policy then everyone who entered after us should have all been told to leave as well but they weren’t. First time coming here and won’t be coming back. Shameful.
