This is a lovely cafe. They have seating out front, inside but also a little covered area out the back too. Quaint and quirky inside. There is a good choice on the menu but we only wanted a sandwich. I had tuna and red onion, it came with crisps and home made coleslaw. It was very tasty. The tea was good too. Service was fantastic and the atmosphere was nice. It's obviously a popular spot and I can see why.

"Romilly's: A Bustling Beachside Gem at The Knap" Despite living 130 miles away in Sutton Coldfield, I've discovered this exceptional coffee shop near my daughter's home at The Knap. Arriving at 8:50 AM, ten minutes before opening, proved strategic as I secured a coveted parking space outside. The café's popularity became evident when, within twenty minutes of opening, it was already bustling with customers. While waiting for my daughter and grandson's short walk from home, I ordered their expertly crafted flat whites. The breakfast didn't disappoint - their sausage and egg toasted sandwiches were absolutely delicious, and my grandson Frankie thoroughly enjoyed a slice of their homemade carrot cake, which proved to be a perfect sweet treat. The café's success speaks volumes through their expansion - they've opened a second location just twenty yards away to accommodate their growing customer base. It's easy to understand why, as Romilly's consistently delivers exceptional service and quality food, complemented by stunning views across the Knap Gardens and Marine Lake. The combination of friendly service, delicious food and drinks, and the picturesque waterfront setting makes Romilly's a must-visit destination, whether you're a local or, like me, traveling from afar to visit family.

Cute cafe with lake views. This cafe has all the feel of a welsh village cafe. Serving good coffee (best in Barry) plenty of breakfast and lunch options. Friendly staff. Bathrooms clean. Combine this with a walk around the lake. Plenty of beautiful white swans there and if you walk to the far end of the beach you will see the sea along pebble beach. Those who like a long walk or hike walk along the beach and up onto the point a high lookout over the bay. For those of you with children this cafe is near Romilly park. Just ask a local. Plenty of parking. Love your local guide- M♥️

Location is lovely, as is decor. Food choice for anyone who doesn't eat dairy is almost non existent. I could have teacake for example, but I couldn't have any spread as the only choice was full fat dairy butter. Who in this day and age doesnt have an alternative for goodness sake. Also vegans are not catered for at all - other than beans on toast or jacket with beans. I spoke to the staff and was told that they are always busy so don't see a problem. Wow. I will avoid next time and try another equally lovely coffee shop in the area. Such a shame.

Had an awesome full breakfast in here, and the coffee was the best I've had in a long time. Staff were friendly and prices seemed more than fair. How popular it is is a testament to the place, grab a table when you see one!
