We chose Rhodri's by the lake for our mini Christmas wedding as it ticked all the boxes for what we were dreaming of. Warm and cosy interior with a stunning natural backdrop of a lake. We couldn't have asked for anything better. The venue was perfect and the staff were so professional, very helpful and accommodating to any of our requests. It was a very special and magical day. Thank you all at Rhodri's by the lake and Canada lodge and lake for all that you have done. Highly recommend.

Don't waste your money or time. Took 30 minutes for our starter to arrive, in total it took 2 hours 45 minutes for a 3 course meal, the service is very very slow, food servings small, so small we had 1 small plate of veg with our meals, between 6 adults, the table of 2 next to us had the same size plate of veg... The chicken strips as a starter, consisted of 1 lettuce leaf, 1 tomato, half a slice of cucumber and 3 child like size chicken strips, how that took so long to arrive???. The deserts between 6 adults range from Sticky toffee pudding and a brownie, neither of them had any taste. With such a great location, it is such a shame that the food lets it all down. We hoped the food had improved since last May while attending a wedding, but it had not. Sorry, we won't be returning or recommending

Sunday lunch. Wow. Took an hour from when we arrived just to receive the starter. Good thing we weren’t starving. Soup and prawn cocktail which you would think was pretty quick to put together and serve. The prawn cocktail came with two slices of bog standard buttered supermarket bread. World’s tiniest Eton mess for dessert, it was laughable. The staff were friendly enough. Expected to have a scenic walk around the lake afterwards but there wasnt much of a walk to be had so we just left.

Disappointed with my first visit here especially as my wife raved about it, don't get me wrong the setting is beautiful but the food and service let it down. I had the Cod goujons which were OK but like something from Iceland, certainly nit home made, the several fries I had would be suitable for any child's meal but certainly not an adult, the salad was pathetic and the peas were dried up to within an inch of their lives. Once the 45min wait for food was over we didn't see another waiter for drinks or checked if the meal was ok or if we needed anything like tartar sauce or any other condements as there werent any on the table as you can see its not like it was overly busy. On the whole the visit was poor which was disappointing as I really had high hopes for such a beautiful setting

Popped in and had lunch. Really nice setting alongside the lake, good little menu with all the favorites. Had paninis which were lovely and lovely chunky chips. Very relaxed and chilled place. Will be going back.

My husband and I wanted to have a late lunch as we finish work at 2pm on Fridays. We decided to give Rhodri's by the Lake a try. I checked the website to make sure that they were open. I could see that they closed at 4.30pm and that tables could be booked online up to 3.15pm. We arrived at 3pm and were told that no food is served after 3pm as the cook leaves at that time. The girl who spoke to us was unapologetic and extremely unhelpful. I suggested that this information needs to be made available on their website to save people a wasted journey. She eventually said that she would pass this suggestion on. Uninspiring choice of food on the menu so definitely won't be returning to Rhodri's by the Lake.

The lake was stunning but I was disappointed with the coffee shop. The range of cakes was poor, service slow and the venue was very cold. Sorry I can't be more positive. Last time we went to the red lodge and we're very impressed. Unfortunately that wasn't open on the day we called.

Lovely venue. Staff nice and friendly. Menu states bloomer bread used for toasties at a cost £5.50 but (seemed like value) white square bread used. Menu doesn't state it comes with salad, which I didn't eat and gave it to my partner, as it was covered in dressing. I think the dressing should be on the side. 2 extra hot latte's ordered nice tasting coffee but served luke warm and in a tea cup. I would rather pay extra for a mug or larger cup. Limited menu.
