Nice little local that's retained some character, next door to a sex club, it attracts an hedonistic crowd on weekends. No cooked food served here, just the odd bar snacks. Like all pubs, it struggles during the week to have any ambience. Some large screen TVs makes it great to watch live sport.

This store is very intimate, because my phone has no electricity, so I can't provide a map to find my hotel. When I returned to the store again, the young female clerk had already got off work, I want to say thank you, I will not forget the young female clerk。 29/11/2018

The Ship and Pilot is a small local traditional pub from, I assume, the days of coal mining and the docks full of commercial shipping. There were similar pubs on most street corners in those days, but sadly most have now closed down! The Ship re-opened a couple of years ago, and it seems to maintain a steady regular trade. The beer is excellent, as is everything from the bar. Not being a regular, I've not noticed any evidence of cooked meals there, but have seen an occasional tray of filled rolls behind the bar, as well as the usual crisps and nuts. Overall, as nice place to enjoy a drink if you're in the area. A no frills establishment that's very well run!
