Lovely atmosphere for drinks and a great dog-friendly pub, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. I ordered the pork tacos and there was barely any pork in them, which was a real let-down. Such a shame, as the place itself has a lot of potential if the food matched the atmosphere.

Had a lovely time overall at the Tredegar Arms, but unfortunately the experience was let down by one member of staff. A short woman with short brown hair was extremely rude and unprofessional towards us while we were playing pool. This was my first time at TA, and as someone who works as a manager in hospitality, I was genuinely appalled by the attitude we received. We were told bluntly to “drink up and leave” ( we had finished our drinks, we were just finishing our game, this was at 11:10pm) while she spoke politely and warmly to other customers around us. The difference in treatment was very noticeable and completely unnecessary. It’s a shame, as aside from this interaction the atmosphere and venue were enjoyable. Hopefully this is addressed, as it’s not the level of customer service you’d expect or want to experience again.

Lovely atmosphere and food. However bitterly disappointed with some members of staff’s attitude. Short girl with brown hair was extremely hostile and arrogant towards our group for no reason whatsoever. Lacked customer service skills and really put me off coming back.

Mother’s Day lunch. The tables were dressed lovely with flowers, chocolates and a card for Mum I also had a glass of Prosecco. We then ordered the turkey lunch which was hot and served with extra pigs in blankets. The wait was not too long and the staff were all very friendly and helpful especially Liz at the bar, Leo who served us and Danny who took our booking.

I had a table at the TA Bassaleg for my birthday celebrations. The staff were amazing, and couldn’t be more accommodating. The food was lovely and we were able to stay at our table from 2pm to close, next to a log burner!! The resident dog is gorgeous and loves a cuddle, and the pub has a lovely warm family feel x

A friendly welcome, pleasant helpful staff. Food was lovely, cooked well.. a good Sunday lunch and kids meals too. Staff well presented and considerate. Fairly priced. Unfortunately the toilets let it down, tired, needs redecoration.. thorough cleaning as " smells unpleasant, strong odour" Also a broken toilet seat of which I informed staff of the issue. Overall a lovely experience, would recommend, with an update on the facilities.

Visited Sunday 30 Oct , even thought we booked a table online the young lady couldn’t find our booking and told us to go find a table …. We went specifically for the Sunday lunch menu , on ordering here is how the conversation went …. “Turkey and beef Sunday lunch please “ We are not doing Sunday lunches … Oh and we have no steaks !! “I’ll have the brunch then please “ Can’t we have no bacon “I’ll have the beef and ale pie then please “ Nope not got that either !! “ suppose you not got the bacon cheeseburger? “ I don’t know if the bacon is different!! “ “ have you the salt beef burgers ? I’ll have two of those” Yes we have them !!! “At last “ Food was excellent though !! Staff were great

The nice local pub was busy on Friday night. The food was great and the service. I and my mates were impressed with the beef pie that was made in the traditional way instead of the puffy butter pastry top. The curry sauce was perfect. I can not stop myself from dipping it with chips. The downside is to get a few more helping hands to cope with the demand for services during peak hours

Great service from the staff, especially young barman Dan ‘The Man’. Always had a smile on his face and nothing was any trouble for him. Lovely food and drinks with nice atmosphere. Haven’t been there in a very long time but will definitely return soon.
