   New Timing chain kit fitted in May this year, less than 1K miles later it has broken. Car was sold to us privately, receipts for work given to us, and we are now informed that the guarantee/warranty is not valid and not worth the paper it is written on. Trading Standards recommend asking the garage for a good will gesture towards the repair costs/cost of a new engine as it is so soon after the initial repair. They have been very clear that the warranty is with the person and not the car. Very sad to be in this position as it was our daughters 17th birthday present, she had the use of it for one day!

   Dodgy mechanic. stay away. I was quoted one price on phone. explained i have the parts and just need the labour costs. when i took my car to him, he asked for more money and failed to keep his word about the quoted price. did not know how to even start the car as honda civics have a push start button and he was trying to forcefully turn the ignition key like a rookie out of his depth. complete and utter waste of my time. he is text book dodgy and a fraud. they will always find an excuse to rip people off. lost my trust completely. i got the job done elsewhere 80 quid cheaper then he quoted me and in 3 hours. he wanted to have the car for the entire day.
