First visit for many years. Visited with my daughter for an early evening meal and a few pints. I had a pint of Rev James while looking at the menu. A well kept pint, plenty on the menu to tempt us, my daughter requested the Sea Bass and I the lamb dish. No Sea Bass unfortunately so my daughter went for the lamb as well. The dish was excellent, well presented, hot and tasty. We both cleared our plates. We used the 40% off meal vouchers which also made it great value for money, the original price is also highly competitive. I will certainly be returning and can highly recommend the food and drink at The Plough based on my experience. Thank you.

We had such lovely evening. The food was amazing, thanks Cheryl. And the service was superb, even though it was super busy, massive thanks Mike.. Bravo to you both!. So impressed and look forward to our next visit. Xxx

We travel to Sophia Gardens form Cornwall to officiate at the judo competitions. We came across The Plough and decided to give it ago for dinner one evening. And since that first time we return here every time we are in Cardiff. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The menu is varied enough for everybody to find something they like. The food is well presented, hot (unless its a salad) and deliciously tasty. Even when very busty we have never been overlooked or forgotten. The staff are very attentive. Highly recommended.

Haven’t been to the Plough for years for food, usually favouring the Villagio, Fox, or Fino. Due to the 40% discount on mains thought we’d give it another go. Service was decent but sadly the noise levels were unbearable and whilst the food was largely β€œokay” beware that a medium steak is more what I’d call very well done, dry. Also seemed pretty small portion of meat but maybe it shrunk due to overcooking. Not worth Β£19.50 before discount anyway.

Enjoyed our visit to the Plough, first time in some years as I live other end of city. Booked for an early dinner before attending a Paint and Prosecco night’s which they do once a month. Lots of fun would recommend for anyone looking for a mid week activity either on your own or as a group

Waitress was really friendly. I was torn between Ham Hock and pie so she recommended the Ham Hock which was superb. Another of my party was a little disappointed as the chicken in his salad was dry. Some menu items were unavailable. It was very busy and meals took a little longer than expected but all in all not bad. Nice pint of Guinness too.

We booked the table to go in The Plough for Thursday night. The restaurant is behind you and goes through the pub. Went with my gym friends. We ordered some chicken and chorizo on flatbread, which looked quite nice, and I think it tasted good too. I ordered the same but with Halloumi, although mine was a bit too hard, so I was a little bit disappointed. Could do with the more sauce or something to go with it. The flat bread was really nice and soft. Some of the ladies ordered Gammon with peppercorn sauce, which was delicious. In the end we ordered some desserts which were really nice. One of them ordered the chocolate dome where you pour the hot chocolate, and the covering reveals the dessert inside, which was nice. I ordered apple and cherry crumbed with custard very nice...looked like the custard was made from scratch came out nice and hot and fresh. Some of them ordered the chocolate brownie with ice cream, which was nice, too. In the end, we paid around Β£24 each, with the discount one of the ladies had. Overall, it was a good time and experience, but I would like to add that there needs to be more chicken and vegetarian dishes. Not all people eat fish or red meat.

Went there for Christmas Day dinner with all the family. Considering there were 10 of us on the table and the pub was full the service was first class. All the food was served at the same time throughout all of the courses and was hot All of the staff gave there full attention to our table providing excellent customer service. Would definitely return.

We love coming here! I have had my babyshower and my daughters 1st birthday. Staff are so accommodating, buffet food was delicious! We were waited on hand and foot all day. We also love coming here for food regularly, so much so that we have booked for Christmas Day. Mike and the team are doing a fantastic job. Keep up the good work x

We had our daughter’s first birthday party at the venue and the service provided was fantastic. The whole team were friendly and accommodating and the day was enjoyed by all. The buffet tasted great and quality superior to your typical buffet selections. The space provided was comfortable and easy for guests to access the bar and other facilities. Would highly recommend this venue for a range of celebrations. Looking forward to our dinner with them on Christmas Day.
