Lovely place. We booked last minute for a pre Xmas family gathering. 14 of us and they didn’t flinch. All food was lovely, came out together and nothing the staff couldn’t do to help. Special shout out to micky and Lee the chef! However all staff were lovely.
All the staff down at the ship are hardworking and know what good customer service is. Always checks on us when we are having our food. Whiles maintaining impeccable timing for drinks. Food is high quality and can tell care is put into it by the Chef lee. Lovely atmosphere with music. Would recommend anyone to go down !
We (partner and I) visited on a Sunday morning around 11.30am so it was very quiet. Staff were lovely and very attentive. Micky our server was great. We ordered the roast and a pudding (this was a deal for £12 each). Our meals were cooked and brought out very quickly. We both had the duo of meats (beef and turkey), the turkey was nice and tender but the beef quite chewy. Good sized portions! Puddings were also delicious although we were quite full after the roast so didn’t quite clear our plates.
We go every now and then, last time was with our 4 year old and 1 year old. The Staff are always very kind and caring and often bring a smile to our kids! We arrived Midday on a Sunday and we were able to sit down right away, food arrived very quickly as well. All 4 meals were superb. Micky served us, and we’ve had the joy of seeing her the last few times we’ve gone in, always lovely to see her and she always gets a smile out of the boys!
Came into the Ship for something to eat as visiting Barry. Cannot fault the service at all! We had Micky as our waitress and she was brilliant. Checked on us multiple times throughout out visit and explained how we ordered etc! The food from chef Lee was amazing and we had no issues. Would highly recommend coming here! Decent prices for food and drink and atmosphere was lovely!
The Ship, need to get their "ship" together. Main course was standard, but after waiting 30 minutes, and my partner having to approach the bar to remind them of the dessert we ordered. This was the sharing dessert "candy mania". C'mon now. PS: In response, there will not be a next time. I'm jumping ship.
We were all given a full refund but I still think I need to be honest about the whole experience. 1.5 hours to get our meals to the table 2 members of our party had their meals 1 hour before everyone else 2 didn't even get their food, the meals that did arrive were cold and missing components as described on the menu, some were burnt but cold and un edible. Room was also very cold. Will not be returning.
Classic cheap pub grub went to watch Wales Vs New Zealand rugby. There were technical issues so missed the national anthems and build up to the game. Staff friendly, food as expected for prices..good news on the food front is they have gluten free menu fyi no chips are gf there
Run out of onion rings for sharing starter but then miraculously had them for the mains.. the mains came out all overcooked, cold, and cremated to within an inch of its life! You could use the chicken burger THAT THEY HID!! at the bottom of the burger as a hammer it was that over cooked and burnt! Couldn't even raise the issue as there was no check on us so I had to leave the table to find someone to tell them.. I also asked for sauces and knives and forks for our starters and got told to wait a minute I'm just sending a photo! So I helped myself! First class customer service! Avoid at all costs!
