Booked a battery test and waited over an hour, then was treated rudely and dismissively by the bearded receptionist. He told me I needed a new battery but refused to explain anything beyond saying it was “flat.” When I mentioned there were multiple options listed on the Halfords website, he made a condescending remark implying I would choose the wrong battery to save money. Before me, he was chatting warmly with a white customer, made me feel I was treated differently because of my race. This is unacceptable. I won’t be returning.

The staff are friendly and helpful. I went to Halfords for coolant change. It is good that the price is clearly stated. After I booked the timeslot and paid online, I drove my car to the garage at the booked timeslot. Halfords informed me in the afternoon by email and phone call when the car was ready to collect. The process of collecting my car is smooth. I asked the staff what is the new coolant put in my car. The staff showed the bottle to me. My car is a Mercedes B Class manufactured before 2014. According the google AI / ChatGPT, Mercedes 325.0 or G48 coolant (which is green/blue) should be used. However, Halford put "MGM Coolant Premium Longlife -40C CPC Ready To Use" into my car. The MGM coolant is also in green/blue which is same colour of the coolant in my car before coolant change. Google AI/ChatGPT said that the MGM coolant should not be used in my car. I double checked with the staff who confirmed me that the MGM coolant was fine with my car. As I don't have much knowledge in using which coolant, I still wonder if the coolant used would fit my car. If a coolant compatible with the specification mentioned by Mercedes Benz, I would rate 5 stars in the result.

I've used Halfords on Foleshill Road many times but thought I'd try this branch as it's closer to home. Our ancient car was booked in for a major service and MOT and after unsurprisingly failing the test, I was called to discuss repair. The prices seemed fair so parts were ordered and the car was fixed and retested the following day. It's handling better than beforehand and I will return to Spon End for future maintenance and repairs. Nice one guys.

Booked a service online 9 days in advance. dropped my car off at 8:30 and I was told that they don't have a mechanic to complete the service, only tyre fitters, that they had to let 3 guys go, 1 guy was on holiday and another was off sick and that they would contact head office to try and get another mechanic out to complete the service and they would let me know in a couple of hours either way. No call was received throughout the day and I returned at 5:15PM to see my car in the same place that I left it. They said they had tried all day but nobody was available to come to do the service. They asked if I would like to re book for another day to which I asked for the keys back. So a day wasted, £260 out of pocket waiting for a refund and still in need of my car servicing. Raised this with their customer service online form to which it says they will reply within 48hrs, no reply.
