   Love this store, great staff, a young lady called Chloe helped me yesterday (19th December, 2025) I hope she is recognised by #pets at home because this young woman is extremely good at approaching a customer without making them nervous, very well versed with her knowledge of the store and it's products/departments, my interest is freshwater tropical fish and all of the products that are necessary, Chloe with her great attitude, very personable/likeable character made my visit to the store that much better and a memorable experience.    I booked a grooming for my dog two months ago , I came for grooming he’s an old English sheepdog he’s 8 months. We’ve just come from London and moved here , it’s quite surprising for me how London pet grooming specifically around north area , they groomed him completely fine. Since we have moved to Hemel Hempstead we have booked an appointment two months ago , they have told us they can’t groom my dog because he moves around too much and doesn’t sit still to me this is just no experience , you’re working with an animal , a dog who will move around , if you can’t work with animals and aren’t confident then why would you work in this sector I don’t understand? Clearly they don’t understand how a dog works and at this point there may be safety concerns for any animal left with them . I’m so very unhappy as the reason that my dog couldn’t be groomed wasn’t valid at all. I’ve been waiting for two months especially in this hot weather waiting for my dog to get groomed since it’s quite hot outside now I somehow have to find someone else and wait .

   I recently visited Pets at Home and had a mixed experience. They do offer a wide selection of food and toys for dogs, which is fantastic. However, there were some drawbacks that I couldn't overlook. Firstly, there seemed to be a shortage of staff on the shop floor. This made it quite challenging to ask questions about products or seek assistance. It appears that there aren't enough employees available to help customers effectively. On the positive side, I was pleased to see that they offer veterinary services and a dog grooming service, which adds convenience for pet owners. In terms of products, they have an extensive range, including everything from dog essentials to cat supplies, small animal care, fish, reptile, and bird products. They truly cover all your pet needs. One disappointment was the absence of water facilities outside for dogs. Small amenities like this can make a huge difference, especially for pet owners visiting with their furry friends. On a brighter note, the store was clean, which was reassuring. They also had their Christmas merchandise on display, and Halloween outfits for animals were available. So, if you're looking for an outfit for your pooch, it's a good place to visit during the holiday season. In summary, Pets at Home has a broad selection of pet products and services, but the lack of staff presence on the shop floor and the absence of outdoor water facilities for dogs were downsides to my visit. It's a convenient option for pet supplies, and the availability of holiday-themed items is a plus, but improvements in customer service and pet-friendly amenities could make it an even better choice for pet owners.

   Nice clean, spacious store with everything you'll need for reptiles, rodents, fish, cats, and dogs. Purchased 2 gerbils and all their equipment with the assistance of Megan, who truly showed her knowledge, passion, and love for the animals under her care.

   Went to get a hamster for my daughter this weekend. Went into store which was immaculate and clean. I got all the accessories (and other pet supplies) I needed and took a look at the sleeping hamsters. I easily found someone who swiftly got me another employee to help me choose my hamster. He was also very efficient and checked over the stairs of my cage, he also got a second opinion and then we were good to go. He was super nice and put more bedding than required in my carry cage (as my hamster looked like a burier) he also came straight to the till amd served me rather than waiting for the customer already at the till. I have to also say there wasn't a queue at the tills either I was first in line. I always find the staff here very efficient, kind, curious and so very helpful! I will definitely come back again and again as I do!
