A group of 6 of is stayed there. We meet up once a year for a Christmas meal. However although we had pre-booked it and decided to stay overnight too for convenience, the 'festive meal' and promise of Christmas crackers did not transpire!! Although we had a booking number for the meal, they couldn't offer it for us. Wr jad to choose something feom their normal menu amd we all steuggled to find anything decent to eat. We were very disappoimted too that although it was very quiet, only a very few people in the restaurant/bar area, that the bar person told us that he would not be able to mix cocktails for 5 of us as he was the only person serving. Nobody was even at the bar queing for a drink at the bar either. Two of us opted for a wine and vodka and lemonade instead. Even that took a long while and we had to chase up. Our server was Katie (I think that was her name). She tried so hard ro get is some food and although offered us bruscetta and olives, it took ages and even then we got thick garlic breads and olives! As there was nothing resembling a roast dinner, 2 of my sisters suggested that the chef try to use the chicken from the salad section and the greens from the side orders and also put the diced roast potatoes with gravy, then that might be an option. Another sister ordered pizza and 1 had halloumi and chips while I reluctantly ordered the steak. We didn't feel that we had a Christmas meal although we had all made an effort to dress up for the occasion. The fee for the meal was waived in the end but that didn't really make the evening fun and we were very disappointed.

The Crowne Plaza Gerrards Cross is a fantastic hotel with great service and comfortable rooms. The hotel is just between Beaconsfield and Gerrard's Cross making the location easy to access either town via either public transport or car/ taxi. There is no walkability from this hotel and it is very dangerous to walk outside the hotel grounds really except for catching the bus. I have experienced a variety of stays in the establishment with initial experiences being brief and polite from staff, up to standard service from housekeeping and no need to contact reception other than to place a medical note on my booking, which was done promptly and easily acknowledged with each future stay. In following stays I have had very little issues, other than a skipped housekeeping schedule one or two times, very minor. I have more often than not, attended work and come back from 5pm onwards to a serviced room and bathroom. Following some week long stays with no complaints, I recently stayed and fell ill with the flu hard shortly after my arrival. I had to cancel work and in my days of bed rest and at the hotel, I approached the staff and informed them of the situation (wearing PPE) and they were very accommodating, they ensured I could reach them whenever I needed over the phone and the reception staff were kind enough to promptly service my room after skipping housekeeping when unwell. The effort and care placed into my wellness/being did not go unnoticed and I appreciated it very much! The breakfast layout kept shifting a bit, which got confusing! However it did not take away from the highlight for me again being the staff, very helpful and kind. The restaurant is nicely decorated and nice to dine in. The triple cooked chips and french fries are both fantastic and well worth the money. The gym, pool and sauna facilities are great however the male changing rooms certainly needs a new changing curtain! The gym equipment is great and the layout works well. Pool and hot tub very enjoyable and clean with frequent testing which is nice. Thanks to all the staff, much appreciated hard work. I look forward to staying here again and have thoroughly enjoyed my stays.

I held a mendhi event here very recently and as soon as I did the first viewing fell in love with it. It was such a great venue and couldn’t recommend it enough. Worked alongside Alison who was such a pleasure to liaise with as she would reply very promptly. The whole staffing on the day was excellent too! Great communication. The venue itself was completely separate to the hotel which was brilliant and just overall a great space and location! Would definitely recommend!

I have now stayed here for work three times, so now feel well-informed to review. The stays have been very mixed, and this hotel experiences huge discrepancies between rooms, since this hotel is undergoing refurbishment, which are much-needed. Two of my stays have been in older style non-refurbished rooms, which feel warmer and more cosy, however show heavy signs of wear, and do not feel thoroughly cleaned between guests. When staying in room 005, it was very noisy, and the neighbouring rooms were very loud, frequently slamming doors, loud enough to wake you up. In room 005, the bath plug was broken which meant having to pull the plug out with your nails, which was pretty difficult with water in. I did however like the fact that there is a second switch for a dimmed bathroom light, which helps in the evening. The refurbished rooms, 426, felt sparkling in comparison, much cleaner. The new soft furnishings were much more modern and minimalist. However, the lighting in the room was not sleep-oriented nor relaxing, which really lets these rooms down(which are all spec'd the same). This room also did not have any form of armchair, desk or surface to work on, purely the bed if you wanted to even sit down. When staying for a longer period of time, this feels like it should be a given. Throughout all three stays, I found the housekeeping's efforts to be pretty dire and lacking any effort. On my first stay, after their daily room service, the housekeeper rolled up a wet bathmat, which was left on the floor to be changed, and then placed it back in the shower. I thought this was pretty appalling. On all three stays, they have not changed mugs or glasses, but simply rearranged the pillows from horizontal to standing up. I one day even poured a small sachet of coffee granules into the mugs to prove they had been used, and still did not get changed. Many days the bin was not emptied. I completely understand that housekeeping have a difficult and rushed job, however these are basic when staying away from home. The 1269 restaurant food was also pretty bad, their 'Pollo' pizza was one of the worst I've tasted, and was highly overpriced. However, the breakfast spread was actually very good. The fruit would really benefit from being covered, since it will be sat out for so long, but the quality of food for a buffet was very good. The air-con in the refurbished rooms seems to be locked onto cold air by reception, providing no warm heating in the winter. However, I did not have this problem with the older style rooms. Overall, most (not all) reception staff are friendly, with a positive shoutout to Rav on reception - but service in the restaurant felt very impersonal at times. The carpark is big and plenty of space (free for hotel guests, but give your plate to reception upon check in at a small tablet), but suffers from terrible pot holes, which could damage a vehicle. It also have EV chargers which is a bonus. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, however suffered from some poor housekeeping. I would certainly ask for a refurbed room if you can live without a chair and just using the room to sleep in at night (as a base).

I was so pleased to be back at this hotel this week as it continues to meet and exceed my expectations. Thank you to Ravinder on the front desk for always being so helpful and available to answer any questions. It is also always great to feel like I am returning home when I am recognised as a relative regular. Bar staff and choice of drinks and food really good. Service always good and the rooms - I was in one of the new ones - are really lovely.. great amenities. Thank you! Amanda

Disappointing experience; we stayed there yesterday. I booked specifically king bedroom because our little one sleeps with us. To our great disappointment when we arrived, the room was tiny and the bed was smaller than any standard double bed you commonly find. I called immediately the reception to raise this issue and their response was that this is their standard king-size bed. This is absolutely ridiculous and I wonder if I had booked the double bed, whether they would have given us a single bed (?!). The staff I spoke to over the phone were rude, not helpful at all and not willing to look into the matter. She said if we wanted a bigger bed we would have to pay an extra £30, which we obviously did not and never will again. In addition to this the windows of the room had mold everywhere and were next to big exhaust pipes with fumes coming out. All in all, we barely slept at night as there was no bed space and little one kept waking up. For the amount we paid, the experience was laughable. I must say that the restaurant and the pool facilities were very good, but given our extreme disappointment with the room and customer service I do not recommend and never will come back. Sadly this was our first experience with Crown Plaza and it has left a very bitter feeling.

We used the hotel for a memorial service for my wonderful wife and mother to five. Room was nice for 120 people, staff were good, but the buffet was not up to standard for the price that was charged. Did not spoil the service. A wonderful day.

We liked our room and are happy to be able to check in a little bit earlier. The roon is clean and has modern decor. Lovely Christmas trees throughout. Great facilities and the bar looks inviting so we will be spending some time there. The staff so far have been helpful.

General hotel staff very friendly and welcoming. The hotel was clean and mostly well maintained. The corridors to the rooms are in need of a bit of TLC but the rooms themselves are very nicely furnished if a tad small. The complimentary tea coffee and soft drinks was a nice touch. The biggest letdown was the event staff/food and the prices at the bar. The event staff were either clueless or frankly rude making you feel like your requests were beneath them. The event food was cliche mass catering, okay, but nothing special, especially for a hotel such as this. The bar prices were astronomical and included a service fee every time which is always an uncomfortable request to ask to remove.

Found hotel generally outdated, not very clean. Especially in the area where our room was, carpets were filthy and everything covered in dust. Our room was tiny! And looked onto an old wall, which can’t have been more than a metre away from our window, and also an old ladder was laying in front of the wall. We booked a club room so was expecting something a bit nicer, room was so dark because of this. The bathroom was also tiny, there wasn’t even enough space for me to put my wash bag on a surface. We did ask if we could move rooms, but there wasn’t availability. Our room was also very close to restaurant, and there was an office next door, so it wasn’t the most relaxing experience. I had booked an aromatherapy massage which was lovely, staff were lovely in the spa and fitness area, I found them helpful. Unfortunately I found the spa pools and changing rooms really dirty though and there was literally brown sludge floating on the top of spa pool bubbles. We found the club lounge underwhelming also unfortunately, good offer for drinks and some canapés, but the general ambiance was again outdated, I felt as though I was in a dodgy airport lounge. We enjoyed our dinner and found the staff to be really friendly, generally the meal was very good value and for the drinks. Breakfast in the morning was really good! Unfortunately because of our room and general cleanliness I can only rate OK.
