   Extremely NOT RECOMMENDED! Horrible Experience and trauma for Our Puppy. STAY AWAY! ⚠️Update: As requested, I've sent the booking details privately and confirm I wrote to the right store. Their initial response—publicly doubting the review rather than addressing the complaint—was disappointing. Added 3 new photos showing that, three days later, the split nails had completely fallen off. The diagonal break has now exposed the entire, long quick. ⚠️Final update:The business has officially responded below. Please be aware of their strategy: 1. They have denied all responsibility. Their “thorough investigation” concluded that their service was perfect. 2. They have blamed us, the owners. They claim a “professional veterinary opinion” states the severe, symmetrical damage to multiple nails was caused by my dog “scratching or digging” after a short leash walk home, where she then slept. This is not only scientifically absurd but a defamatory attempt to shift blame. 3. They ignored all factual rebuttals. 4. Their “open invitation” is a PR stunt designed to distract from the specific, documented injury. They would not address how it happened under their care.⚠️ We have a 16kg young dog who has had successful baths and nail trims at other groomers without any issue. We tried this nearby shop for the first time based on a recommendation, hoping for convenience. It was an absolute nightmare and a traumatic experience for our young dog. 1. Grossly Incompetent, Borderline Abusive Nail Trimming When we got home and tried to wipe her paws, our puppy was unusually sensitive and resistant—whimpering and pulling away. Upon close inspection, I was horrified and heartbroken. Her nails were butchered: · At least 3 nails were cut soooo short they bled. The quick was clearly cut into, with thick vessel exposed, with visible blood and residue!!!!!! · At least 5 other nails were cut right to the very edge of the quick, leaving only a dangerous sliver of pink before the blood vessel. · Nearly every single nail was left ragged and split!!!!! I have never seen nails splintered from a trim, especially on a puppy with softer nails! Do they not have proper, sharp tools? This reeks of using dull clippers and rushed, impatient staff with no patience for a young dog. · Her nails are white/clear, making the quick perfectly visible. There is zero excuse for this many cuts and such shoddy work on a puppy. This is foundational grooming that they failed at catastrophically. 2. Complete Lack of Transparency Most alarmingly, when I picked her up, the staff said NOTHING about the nails. They did not inform me that there had been any bleeding, nor did they apologize or offer any aftercare advice. This shows a complete lack of professionalism and accountability. Hiding an injury caused by their negligence is unacceptable. 3. Distressing After-Effects on My Puppy My normally energetic, curious puppy came home lethargic, subdued, and has been sleeping constantly (very abnormal for her age). She is extremely sensitive and fearful about us touching her paws (also very abnormal). She can't tell us she's in pain, but her behavior screams it. We are heartbroken and furious. This isn't just a bad groom; this is causing physical pain and potentially creating a lasting fear of nail trims and groomers for a young, impressionable dog. Conclusion: This establishment demonstrated a shocking lack of professionalism, basic skill, empathy, and care for animal welfare. They caused injury, failed to disclose it, wasted my time, and traumatized my young dog. I would not trust them with any animal. RUN. Save your money and, more importantly, spare your pet this awful experience that could impact them for life. We will never return and will be warning all local pet owners. This is no longer about a bad review. It’s about a business that, when faced with clear evidence of harm, chose to attack the customer’s credibility rather than conduct a genuine investigation. Let their response inform your judgement.

   We absolutely love the Hound Hut! All four of my dogs adore visiting — so much so that when we’re walking through Kennington Park, they try to drag me straight to the shop. They just can’t wait for their grooming day! The staff are all wonderful, warm, and genuinely caring. Emily, Holly, and Natalia are all fantastic groomers. They always take such great care of my pups and make them look wonderful every single time. The owners, Rob and Anthony, are amazing — welcoming, dedicated, and always creating such a positive, cheerful atmosphere in the shop. Our oldest, Stanley, is 14 years old, and he still loves going in — he happily gives everyone big kisses the moment he walks through the door. The Hound Hut is simply the best, and we couldn’t imagine going anywhere else!

   Last minute call in to get my uncles dog groomed after he passed away. It was the best experience ever for the little cutie. Lisa, Emily and Natalia were honestly the most wonderful employees. So kind, so helpful, so lovely, really took care of coco. (The dog) I couldn’t be more impressed. I would highly recommend this company all day and every day! Thank you!!

   We had our 6 year old miniature cockapoo groomed here today and are so happy with the results. He gets very hot in the warmer weather, so asked for him to be short with something quirky on top - and Emily absolutely smashed it, he looks gorgeous and came out such a happy boy.
