   We passed by the fleece this week and decided to pop in for some food. The location is absolutely beautiful and the setting, service and atmosphere were beautiful. We had a lovely lunch off the lite bite menu which was definitely not lite and amazing value for money. We want to say a special thank you to Reece, who was so friendly and very attentive and took time to welcome us and make us feel right at home as if it was our own regular local! We were out and about looking around the area to move over this way so cannot wait for this place to be our new local place for lovely people food and drinks.

   On June 27th, we celebrated our wedding at The Fleece Countryside Inn and it was absolutely perfect ✨ The venue has the most stunning countryside views, which caught our attention from first sight- perfect for beautiful photography and outdoor hosting. From first point of contact, the staff were welcoming, attentive, professional, and genuinely warm- ensuring the whole day flowed seamlessly. The food was 5 star, beautifully presented and praised by our guests as one of the best wedding meals they’d ever had. A relaxed and intimate atmosphere was really important to us and the team helped us create a package that was perfect for us and met our needs entirely. We were both so relaxed and fully present throughout the day, knowing everything was taken care of behind the scenes by the team. The rooms we and our guests stayed in were perfect, immaculately clean, amazing facilities and a gorgeous breakfast the morning after. The Fleece will always hold a special place in our hearts, and we wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking a venue that combines breathtaking scenery, outstanding service, and unforgettable memories.    I had my wedding here at the start of Novemebr 2025. I can't recommend this place enough. The whole process is so easy from start to finish and the venue is just full of beauty spots for the photos. Not to mention the veiw out over the valley. We were exceptionally lucky and got a fireworks display in the distance! The staff are lovely and professional and will help you with any query. Carrie-ann is there every step of the way and is just so organised and efficient it makes everything so much easier! Also the food is just out of this world, I will definately be going back for the food!

   We had such a lovely dinning experience at The Fleece on Thursday 9th October! We booked a table for dad's 82 birthday and we were delighted with our choice of pub! The venue is not only special because of the beautiful building and setting - and autumnal and tasteful Halloween decorations - but we were mainly impressed by the very attentive service and amazing quality of every dish. The steak night options were superb, great quality of meat, cooking and sides dishes, and I had the best vegetarian meal I have ever had in a pub - delicious! and with very interesting and tasty accompaniments. Every dessert was gorgeous and beautifully presented, well above the quality and presentation of other pubs. The waiting staff were so very professional and made us feel so looked after! And we were so pleasantly surprised by the very thoughtful gesture for dad´s birthday on his dessert:) they made the evening extra special! Thank you to everyone at The Fleece for the wonderful dining experience! Very highly recommend. ( We are moving to the area soon and delighted to have such a wonderful pub on our doorstep!:):)

   The Fleece is a very welcoming country pub and wedding/event location. The food is definitely at the higher end of pub food. We had a lovely lunch there and there was a reasonable selection of vegetarian options. The food was very well presented. The staff were attentive and welcoming. Our family have a lot of history with the pub in the past with members of the family running it during the war and being born there. Ask the manager about the ghost if you go! Plenty of parking and some great views also.

   Staff friendly and attentive! Food was very average but priced at a premium. Expected more with the AA awards. Foods ok but it’s certainly nothing special or anything a home cook couldn’t beat. If you are going I would advise you request to be seated in the pub area at the front. We were seated at the back in a very large open room and it felt like we were part of someone else’s christening function. Beautiful view and location! Expect to pay £25 a head. 1 course and a drink. Couldn’t wait to get home and fill up with Saturday night’s leftovers.

   We ate in the restaurant and the food was some of the nicest I've ever tasted. It is situated in a lovely area and has lovely views over the valley. The service is good but we wished they were a bit more attentive, we waited quite a while for next courses and for assistance when we wanted more drinks etc. Highly recommend this place, its expensive but you definitely get your moneys worth I quality. They have a mixture of portion sizes but this is fine dining not all you can eat.

   We had our wedding here earlier this year and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish! Our wedding had been rearranged numerous times due to covid and Carrie-Anne and the team were so accommodating and helpful throughout all of the stressful times. The day itself was amazing! The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and the communication on the day was great. We are so happy we chose this beautiful venue and would definitely recommend it!    We had our wedding there. During a heatwave. The view was beautiful the day was beautiful. Our ceremony and reception was fantastic. wedding breakfast and evening food was bountiful and cooked perfectly. The often unsung heroes are the staff. Very attentive, helpful and patient. Thank you for working in such hot conditions and helping to make our day so special. Lovely room and great fry up the next day too.
