“Had a very pleasant stay at Windmill Court Hotel. The room was cosy and clean. The food was old-fashioned and hearty. The staff were friendly and welcoming - nothing was too much trouble. Gillian, who runs the hotel, is a lovely lady. Would certainly stay again.”

“I’ve been taking my puppy to It’s a Dog Life for 5 months now, one day a week, and they are always so flexible if I need an extra day. The cost is so reasonable compared to a dog walker, and I have complete peace of mind knowing he’s cared for all day while I’m at work. The staff are amazing – especially Louise, who my dog absolutely adores! He’s always so excited when we pull up, and often doesn’t want to leave. He’s also had a groom here and it was excellent. In fact, when I took him for a last-minute bath at Pets at Home, they asked who groomed him and said it was one of the best they’d seen. I would honestly be lost without this service. Highly recommend!”

“We visited Halifax just for one night to attend an event at The Piece Hall. The hotel was a short walk from the venue. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and made us feel at home straight away. The room was clean and comfortable and nicely decorated. We had a continental breakfast which was great. The hotel was very good value for money and we would have no hesitation in staying again if we revisited the area.”

“Didn't eat, but beer was great. Well kept ales, great prices, and they are part of the CAMRA discount and voucher scheme, which meant my pint cost £3.25. Amazing value. Great atmosphere, too, with 2 different footy matches on as well as a northern soul event.”

“The hotel and staff were awesome, and the room was spotless, plus the hallway smelled amazing. But, I was bummed that the pool and gym were closed until noon, which was when I had to check out, even though I thought they'd be open. Also, the outlet in my room, 131, didn't work, and some of the furniture needs to be replaced because it's getting old.”

“Location was perfect, 5 mins drive from Hudderfield Private Hospital. Hotel and room very clean and well equipped. The staff, especially Maggie and Sarah were delightful. Very friendly and professional. We had received some unsettling news and needed to get off some urgent emails. They assisted and were extremely helpful and empathetic. Housekeeping were ace too and slipped a courtesy note under our door, would we like our room xleaned, we had forfotten to pop the Do not disturb sign on the door. Ibraham was in attendance behind the bar and he too was a joy. We are returning to the area in the very near future and without doubt this is where we will choose to stay. Entirely exceeded our expectations.”

“Great location as at a function in The Arches. Caution on parking, good but payable as not part of the Travelodge. However doesn't seem obvious you have to pay so I didnt notice at first and hopefully haven't got a charge. Rooms a little tired but perfectly clean. No breakfast but cafes right outside.”

“Excellent priced hotel, straight outside the train station. Me and my Wife booked in for the night as we were going to a show at the Victoria Theatre just 5 minute walk away. Very speedy check in and out. Clean, spacious and very comfortable. A good night sleep had by us both. Paid £44 for a Saturday night, whats not to like.”

“Staff were impeccably dressed. The guys on reception were lovely. It's a big old building with lots of rooms. It looks as though it's due a revamp, but In this current climate, the room was clean, comfortable, spacious and airy. The bath was big and deep and the towels were fluffy and clean. Breakfast was down stairs, and attention to service was lovely. Something you don't always get nowadays ... Nothing was to much trouble. Definitely worth the money..”

“I have used Whitegates for around 8 years to let out an apartment I own in Trooper Lane, Halifax. I have always received a very good service. Whitegates find tenants very quickly. They sort all the references and do the necessary checks every time. Emma in the lettings office is extremely helpful and friendly. People who write bad reviews forget the agent is not always at fault. If they fall victim to poor property owners they can only do so much! I think they do a very good job indeed. I would recommend them to both landlords and tennents alike!”
