“Absolutely delighted to have had this place recommended to me by my dog trainer. We have an incredibly anxious cockapoo and I never really believed we'd be able to leave her happily. She had a day visit to Croftmount followed by just a one night stay to see how she got on before we booked her in for longer. She ate well, looked relaxed in the photographs of her outside and even enjoyed cuddles. When we went to pick her up she went over to the lady who'd been looking after her to give her a nose bump first before she enthusiastically greeted us. I feel 100% confident leaving my dog at Croftmount and recommending it to others.”

“The food here is exceptionally good. It’s classic gastropub fare, but made with high-quality ingredients and cooked perfectly. Beautifully presented too, with great service and a lovely atmosphere. I didn’t love the vibe upstairs—it felt a bit flat—so I’d recommend asking for a table downstairs to enjoy the open fire, the beautiful architecture, and the buzz.”

“Hamilton Bower were easy to deal with in the sale of a house.They took care of everything from viewings and arranging for necessary certificates to be obtained.Any concerns were quickly relayed to us along with options so any problems could be resolved.”

“Not had food so can't comment. Staff are friendly and approachable. There is a group we go to on a Friday morning 10-1 that is aimed at getting the community together and helping the vulnerable to socialise rather than be alone at home.”

“I recently visited stump cross and tried their stump stack burger — and wow, it did not disappoint! The patty was juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right. The fries on the side were crispy and golden. Great service and a relaxed atmosphere made it an all-around great experience. I’ll definitely be back again.”

“Very nice modern rooms, staff was very helpful and friendly, plenty of on site parking, whilst i was there they had 2 functions on but didn't hear them due to sound prof rooms, i will definitely stay there again and would recommend to family and friends.”

“It's the first time I have been to the Milestone. I went with my sister and her husband. I must say we throughly enjoyed ourselves. The service, food and atmosphere was great. The food is reasonably priced but good quality. I had fish and chips. Probably the best I have had for a very long time. If you're close by try it.”

“We had such a lovely dinning experience at The Fleece on Thursday 9th October! We booked a table for dad's 82 birthday and we were delighted with our choice of pub! The venue is not only special because of the beautiful building and setting - and autumnal and tasteful Halloween decorations - but we were mainly impressed by the very attentive service and amazing quality of every dish. The steak night options were superb, great quality of meat, cooking and sides dishes, and I had the best vegetarian meal I have ever had in a pub - delicious! and with very interesting and tasty accompaniments. Every dessert was gorgeous and beautifully presented, well above the quality and presentation of other pubs. The waiting staff were so very professional and made us feel so looked after! And we were so pleasantly surprised by the very thoughtful gesture for dad´s birthday on his dessert:) they made the evening extra special! Thank you to everyone at The Fleece for the wonderful dining experience! Very highly recommend. ( We are moving to the area soon and delighted to have such a wonderful pub on our doorstep!:):)”

“Lovely couple running the B & B, very warm and welcoming. We had a dog with us, the owners had done their work before hand and knew the dog before we arrived. Beds are warm and comfortable, and free wifi was good too. We will be using them again. Thank you for lovely stay.”

“From initial contact to occupancy Boococks were very informative towards myself as a first time tenant. Information provided, from Gina Brown in particular, was clear and my questions were answered in a timely and supportive manner. Initial maintenance aspects were addressed very quickly by Gina and Boococks technical support team. Information on tenancy agreements was also greatly appreciated when assessing options. This was my first time in a rental property but it has been a positive experience which I’d like to thank Gina and the team for. Best Liam”

“Very clean, busy road outside at rush hour time but you don't even notice it when in inside even with the windows open. The owner can't do enough for you and your stay, nice place also eureka is practically in the back garden”

“We stayed here the night before and night of our wedding and it was perfect. I had some requests on specialised key card covers and putting boxes in our guests room before arrival which Dee happily accommodated. Our rooms were cleaned and tided and the recycling taken away from the night before which really helped with the clean up the day of leaving. We didn’t have much time in our suite the night of so we’ll definitely be coming back at some point to stay and enjoy it then. Thanks again”

“A lovely little B&B, only a couple of minutes' walk from the centre of town. Rooms are very well appointed with en-suite facilities, microwave and tea/coffee making. Travis House is owned and run by a very friendly local couple who know everything about the area. The rooms are very reasonable in price (I paid £45 for a twin room, per night). An excellent cooked breakfast is included in the price. Highly recommended, I will definitely stay again!”
